ABC is still trying to fill that Tuesdays at 10pm timeslot. Many ABC shows have been given that timeslot and they’ve all been cancelled — Killer Women, Body of Proof and Lucky 7, to name just a few. So, how’s the new Forever TV show doing? Will it break the trend or be cancelled as well?
On the Forever TV show, New York City’s star medical examiner is Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd). He can ascertain things that most can not because of his vast experience — he’s been alive for 200 years but can’t figure out how or why. The rest of the cast includes Alana de la Garza, Lorraine Toussaint, Donnie Keshawarz, Joel David Moore, and Judd Hirsch.
The series got off to an okay start, following the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars on a Monday night. It attracted a 1.7 rating with 8.59 million viewers. The following night, in its permanent timeslot, the demo rose slightly but viewership dropped.

In week two, the ratings tumbled to a 1.4 in the demo with 5.69 million. In week three, they fell even lower and last week’s installment hit new lows with a 1.1 demo rating and 4.81 million viewers.
Just four weeks into the season and this show is already in serious trouble. ABC needs a successful show to fill the Tuesdays at 10pm timeslot and it’s clear that Forever isn’t the answer to their prayers. It’s unlikely that they’ll order any installments beyond their initial 13 episode order.
Will all of the episodes air? I suspect that ABC will release the six remaining episodes — probably before the holidays. The network may find other programming to air in the Tuesdays at 10pm timeslot during at least some of November sweeps however.
Either way, unless there’s a miraculous turnaround in the ratings, Forever is as good as cancelled. It’s yet another TV show about an immortal that will see its life cut short.

There’s no question… RENEW FOREVER. Everything about the show is amazing. The writing is thought-provoking, the acting is superb, and these characters are so relatable. Their story isn’t over yet. We need to know more about Henry’s story. We need to know more about every character’s story. KEEP THIS SHOW!! #RenewForever

I can’t wait to watch this show every week! It is such a unique show
and it’s difficult to describe but it makes you think!
It also has one of the best story lines that I’ve seen in a long time
(And I watch a lot of TV!)
Please don’t cancel Forever!!
Forever is a rare show. On it’s surface, it is a procedural but look beneath and it is a show about life, death, hope, family, and dealing with the grief that living brings. It needs to stay around and prove that good shows about something real can still be made. The show has a phenominal writing staff that delivers each episode better than the last and is cast so well that those words are perfected by the actors. Forever is one of those few shows that you can all watch together across generations – the 80 something great grandmom, the 60ish grandmother, the 40ish mother, and the teenager all on the couch enjoying the show together!
