Doctor Henry Morgan may be immortal but his TV show isn’t. ABC has cancelled the Forever TV series after one season of 22 episodes.
On the Forever TV show, New York City’s star medical examiner (Ioan Gruffudd) can ascertain things that most can not because of his vast experience — he’s been alive for 200 years but can’t figure out the how or the why. The rest of the cast includes Alana de la Garza, Lorraine Toussaint, Donnie Keshawarz, Joel David Moore, and Judd Hirsch.
The series debuted last September to a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.26 million viewers. The ratings grew for episode two but they started falling after that.
Though the Forever series had some very passionate fans, that devotion didn’t translate into positive ratings. The numbers were pretty poor for much of the season and the show ended up averaging a 1.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.93 million viewers.
As a result, ABC has decided against ordering a second season of Forever. The last episode aired earlier this week and unfortunately left viewers with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Did you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Why do you think it didn’t catch on with a larger audience?
I’m sad to hear that the show got cancelled. I thought it was a great show and was excited to watch each new episode. ABC, in my opinion you made the wrong decision.
whats wrong ,the show is great me and my look forward watch every n monday put in back on please
I wish it had been renewed. I loved the show and watched it every week, on demand. Since I work nights, I couldn’t watch it on its time slot. I will miss the show.
Noooooooooo! I want it back!
Forever should have been renewed
Im so sad that they cancelled this show i really hope that they make it again me and my sister’s love it. .was the perfect show for after work ….
ByeBye Forever,
I thought the show was great. So good to see Mr. Carter Again and I loved the idea.
ABC – get it TOGETHER!!!!!!!
I was just checking my dvr and looking for my favorite show…forever. I didn’t see it listed and just found out it was canceled. Of all the shows we dvr it was my first to watch. I really thought the cast was great together and storyline very entertaining.
Loved the show and just discovered it was not coming back for season 2! We should start a campaign to get ABC to bring it back. Such a novel concept and great storyline! It’s getting to the point if you want to watch a good drama series, not reality TV, you have to watch something other than the three major networks.
Needs to come back love this show
So disappointed to hear it is cancelled. I now have no reason to cancel my cable subscription.
Did not know it was cancelled until now. My favorite shows are disappearing for stupid reality shows. I think TV in general is going downhill with its programming choices and content
It’s terrible news that a entertaining show is cancelled. We agree with Mr Hart. Please rethink this decision. Perhaps a new time slot would be better for ABC. Seems that creative art are the ones that are lost.
I agree with David September 20 2015

This became our favorite show. I am very saddened to hear that ABC cancelled the show. I felt that the cast jelled and the show became stronger with each episode. Perhaps the time slot should have been changed first before killing a great entertaining show. This is something that could make me stop watching ABC all together.
Agreed!
Love the show. Incredibly sad it has been canceled!!!
