Doctor Henry Morgan may be immortal but his TV show isn’t. ABC has cancelled the Forever TV series after one season of 22 episodes.
On the Forever TV show, New York City’s star medical examiner (Ioan Gruffudd) can ascertain things that most can not because of his vast experience — he’s been alive for 200 years but can’t figure out the how or the why. The rest of the cast includes Alana de la Garza, Lorraine Toussaint, Donnie Keshawarz, Joel David Moore, and Judd Hirsch.
The series debuted last September to a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.26 million viewers. The ratings grew for episode two but they started falling after that.
Though the Forever series had some very passionate fans, that devotion didn’t translate into positive ratings. The numbers were pretty poor for much of the season and the show ended up averaging a 1.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.93 million viewers.
As a result, ABC has decided against ordering a second season of Forever. The last episode aired earlier this week and unfortunately left viewers with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Did you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Why do you think it didn’t catch on with a larger audience?
Please bring back foreve or at least give the show a proper ending!! Why they always cancel the shows that people really like. If they want better rating just change the time and day!! No respect to the public .
Please I’m 48 and I love this show you are wrong for cancelling
I loved Forever. The show was clean, entertaining and interesting. The actors/actresses put on a great performance. There was not one person I talked to who had seen Forever that did not like it. Please reconsider. I don’t usually write about a show but this one I believed in.
I loved the show and recorded it every week. It’s so like the networks to cancel the good shows! The season finale left the fans wondering how great it will be next season.
I can’t believe you are cancelling this show…My husband and I watch and love it every week. The characters are all so very interesting and have been well developed. I will miss my new Tuesday night friends if this show does not return.
AGAIN AN EXCELLENT SHOW ON TV AND IT GET CANCELLED.
GEEEEE WHAT A SURPRISE. BEEN SEEING THIS KIND OF STUFF FOR 50 PLUS YEARS OF MY LIFE.
GREAT SHOWS GET CANNED AND THE GARBAGE AND FILTH STAY ON FOREVER.
NO PUN INTEDDED.
Forever was one of the BEST shows on ABC. This is a good show with a good plot. ABC you keep the bad shows running and cancel the good ones. You should have given it one more season to catch on. I’m going to stop watching this network all together.
I can’t believe u canceled Forever!!!!!!! I watch 2 shows during the week Castle and Forever. Those 2 are the only ones I would let my 9 yr old daughter watch. It was wonderful to be able to have sum daddy daughter time. Thanx for totally ******** that up for me!!!!!!!
WHY!?!??!? Did they cancel this great show. I’m so sad that they cancelled such a great show.
Forever was a show I really enjoyed to watch as it sparked an interest for people who enjoyed mystery and crime shows. I’m in the under 18 demographic and thoroughly enjoyed every second of the show, please renew.
I hope Forever will come back. The story is now getting into his relationship with Jo which we were all waiting to see, and now it’s cancelled? Really?
I love Forever. It is a very good show. Please don’t cancel. It didnt really have a chance to get going. This season was just really telling the back story. Now we can move on to the future. Please change your decision.
This is a BIG mistake! The reason for the low viewings is the time slot and on a different slot the show would flourish! I know a large number of girls in my school watch it, the following is pretty large considering how few episodes there are at this point. Of all the crap tv shows be in renewed, Forever should have been one of them. Veey disappointed.
Forever was my favoite show!
Forever was the best show! I loved it, I am crushed that they would cancel it. I loved this show!
