TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?

I’m really disappointed that you cancelled “Forever”. It was a very good show, didn’t treat the audience like idiots as so many of the new reality shows. I was impressed by the mysteries as well as the intertwined mystery of why he was living “forever” and the knowledge he had obtained over the years of his existence, and how the story line would flow with all the above braided together. So, demographics aside, it was a mistake to cancel this show of good actors & writers because it didn’t appeal to the younger generation? The younger generation is fickle and… Read more »
Has anyone heard anything new about getting a Season 2 for this wonderful show?
Sally you can go to change.org and they have a petition you can sign to save Forever. Or call Netflix. They said the more calls they get the better the chance Netflix will pick up the show. Please call!!!!
one of the best shows on television way better than all the reality shows on tv today. I hate to see it get cancelled
I am disappointed in ABC for canceling my favorite program. I can understand why so many people are turning to Netflix for their viewing. No sooner than a viewer gets interested in a program ABC drops it from their lineup. Why not give it a chance. I never got interested in the Mentalist until season 2 and after watching an episode I became a fan of that program. Your program directors have canceled a good program in favor of sorry programs like Uncle Buck or Battlebots, which I certainly won’t be watching. So good luck ABC, see how long those… Read more »
This show was put up against the Blacklist on occasion and the Blacklist got good ratings while the world series and Monday Night Football was on at the same time as the Blacklist. The way this show ended shows that the fans or viewers do not matter.
why is it that the great shows are canceled and the terrible shows survive
This is possibly the BEST show on television. I hate reality shows. This is one of the few shows I watch and really enjoyed. It REALLY SHOULD BE KEPT ON TV!
You’ve got it TOTALLY WRONG, ABC!! This show is awesome, the cast is great and has super chemistry, and has so much potential!! What are you thinking? Bring it back, dammit! BRING IT BACK!
So sad am I. Forever is a series I looked forward to weekly. Not much good on tv these days and now even less. Might have to renew my library card and cancel cable.
They can’t possibly think that everyone watches at the time the show is actually on TV – most everyone uses DVR or watches it later on On Demand! That system, if they’re still using the Nielson ratings, is not accurate anymore. Anyway, they never asked ME what I thought about the show.
Forever excellent stories (getting better each week), terrific cast and great chemistry. Should never have been cancelled. Different time slot or different starting season maybe started May or June. Should have been given more advertising. Also update how u tell how many people actually are watching, more age groups (don’t count out over 40s our under 30s. We older folk have the money to support ur sponsors. Lots of people watch off computers, people not in US, there is hugh following for this show. Some SMART NETWORK needs to pick this up. Whoever picks this up has an audience waiting.… Read more »
Another well casted, well written show gone as the moronic masses huddle to watch retards on islands and women with not a shred of self esteem vie for a husband on televised so called reality series.
It was a great show thanks for nothing ABC!!!!!
Keep the series. A a great series. How about canceling reality junk. No one cares about how fat people loose weight or dancing with old tv actors
You have to wonder who these people are who watch those dumb reality shows. Obviously, many, many people must love them since they are growing like a cancer on the airwaves. I don’t care who “survives” or does “naked dating” or is “naked and afraid”. Dumbest stuff I ever heard of. You just can’t find anything decent on TV these days. Nothing to really engage the mind and heart like Forever did.
Loved the show FOREVER. I am disappointed that it was cancelled. I had looked forward to a another season.
