TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?

There are very few shows I’ve looked forward to as much as this one. Devastated to hear it’s been cancelled! What’s wrong with people?
Do they really still rely on those Neilson ratings? I never watched Forever at night; I have to get up for work at 5:00AM, so I go to bed before 10:00. That system is outdated, if that’s what they go by.
Forever should stay on air I loved the show. Renew it please.
I loved the show and I am very disappointed to see it go. It was intelligent and intriguing. I looked forward to seeing it each week. There are few shows of that caliber on network television.
For something as far fetched as this show was it was believable and entertain well written I hope somebody else picks it up I’ll definitely watch it
I will miss this show; it was one of the few really good ones. When the new shows come on I very often will check them out to see it it is worth my time to watch, if not I don’t bother to watch them. FOREVER captured my attention from the beginning and I taped it on the DVR because it came on so late. I’m sure it’s rating would have been much better if it came on earlier as I’m not sure that the people doing the rating considered people like me that don’t stay up late. This is… Read more »
I feel that “Forev’er” is a great show. I do not understand why it’s ratings where so low. It was a favorite of mine.
Actually, I don’t think the ratings were that low; the network just expected more, but did a lousy job of promoting the show, and never gave it a chance to have a second season to get more viewers.
Instead, they promote the dim-witted reality shows – do you ever watch anything without getting all those promotions for the Bachelor or the stupid spin offs? They make them out to be real dramatic, when it’s all staged. It’s almost like watching Jerry Springer.
That’s why I say No to ABC!
It’s a very good show. It shouldn’t be cancelled. Please bring the second season back.
FOREVER was a clever show with good characters and good actors. It should have been renewed.
Give a few episodes a few shots this summer. We missed the pilot and would love to see it. Maybe more people will discover the show that was in HORRIBLE time slot and was “hit or miss” for that time slot. (Once it was not listed in TV directory but we checked the station anyway and there it was.) For the part of the world is SICK of reality television and other related junk, please bring back FOREVER.
So sad this really good show was cancelled. There is so much “garbage” on TV so now the network can just add to it. Forever had all the makings of a really enjoyable show but the network gods thought differently. I guess nothing lasts “Forever”.
I personally enjoyed Forever and wishes it was renewed or picked up by another network. I have watched ABC cancel several good shows that were just coming into their own and then boom they are cancelled. Kind of disappointing they can’t stick with anything long enough to last. I am going to start watching more and more CBS because at least they let their shows die on their ow.
Yes, ABC is the one who cancelled Life on Mars, which I LOVED. They also cancelled Eli Stone, but the fans got it another season, so take heart!!
They keep whatever the common denominator wants – reality garbage. Makes me throw up when I hear about ANOTHER one of those shows starting up. I also have to fear for the young people who like those shows; their brains must be liquifying and draining out of their ears. Sick-o stuff.
Someone suggested getting Netflix to pick up the show. That’s sounds fine for some people. But for those of us on satellite internet, it will not work. We have limited downloads each month which a TV show and/or movies will use it up in just a few hours. So netflix is definitely NOT a solution. Just bring back the show to the a TV station somewhere and you must keep the same actors/actresses, if they haven’t already moved on to other projects. The Chemistry, as someone else mentioned earlier is part of the reason the show is so good. The… Read more »
Totally agreed with your comment. A BIG hooray to the writer of this show and most of all to the actors. As you said the CHEMISTRY is so important. It’s very rare to have such a decent and beautiful show like FOREVER on TV these days. I have never been so impatient in my retiring life to look forward to each Tuesday evening, just to be able to watch Forever!! Please bring it back, and with the same actors if possible, please. Thank you. This was the only show that I love from ABC.
Our family would like to see Forever renewed.
Thank you ABC for an excellent show. I rarely watch TV series, but FOREVER was my favorite show ever. I was sad and very disappointed that the show was cancelled just after 22 episodes! I am looking forward to another season, maybe this Fall? Hat off to the writer who has created a profound and exciting life story. And my heartily congratulations to the cast. This show is awesome, and the cast has my utmost respect and admiration, especially the actor who played Dr. Henri Morgan, and whose name I could never pronounce properly. But I admire him so much,… Read more »
