TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?

both cleaver and entertaining.
Another good show cancelled, The only thing you did by cancelling this show is convince me not to watch any new shows I like it and you cancel it, good job. Don’t you even read some these post or does ABC even care.
I love this show. My family loves this show. Why did you cancel it? Why are you putting crap on in it’s place. Please renew it!! Someone out there please pick it up. How the heck could that be the end of the show, with loose ends. Y’all must hate your audience.
ABC, you finally put a show on that is interesting and exciting , then you cancel it. This is happening on other networks also. The mature audiences are losing out. Do your best to think more about this show and the audience that loves it. It’s a shame to see some of these other shows being renewed and this one isn’t.
One of my favorite shows. I do not watch very many shows on ABC CBS, NBC. Most of the stuff that is being shown on these three networks is garbage. The main characters have little or no moral center. Almost every show touts moral bankruptcy and glorifies it. Shows that show a glimmer of intelligence are cancelled.
Cant believe it is being done again. A series that both my husband and I enjoy is being taken off television. Now a series of no interest will take its place… Why do stations not give a chance to people of my and my husbands ages 66 and 62 who enjoy programs. You dont give them a chance. Your only concern is teens and young ones between 21 to 30 It is the people our ages who like stories like this. Ever time we like a series then it is taken off. PLEASE PLEASE RENEW IT THANK YOU MARILYN
I have been VERY disappointed since the TV series Forever was cancelled. I loved its originality – so unlike anything else on TV lately. I loved that Dr. Henry Morgan lived in an antique store, loved classical music and fine clothing (scarves) as I do too. I loved its little side jokes and hidden funny lines. I really cared about the other characters and their personality quirks (the dr’s assistant, etc.). Every week, I looked forward to seeing how Dr. Morgan would outwit the murderer without giving too much of his secret past. It was like a breath of fresh… Read more »
Really wish you could at least let the show go for one more episode to tie up the story line. Forever wondering if he told her the true story. Really shows your lack of respect for the people who watch your shows and how it feels to not know how they end, end.
thank you for letting me get this off my chest.
yours Patrick R. Hines
I was floored that ABC cancelled this show & signed an online petition at Change.org to bring it back. It had everything going for it: interesting plot, great actors that had chemistry, fantastic writing, both comedy and drama. What’s ABC thinking?!
Would love to see it picked up by one of the other networks. I loved this show.
Beyond upset. Totally ridiculous to have cancelled such a classy show with such superb actors.
It seems that American TV is no longer “classy”, which it was when I was growing up, at least to some extent. Now, it’s all about garbage “reality” TV, which totally sucks. Who cares about these idiots on those shows? Young people, I guess, and we tend to worship the young in our society. But, we older ones are the ones with MONEY, so why do networks still cater to the young? They’re always talking about 18-49 – well, I haven’t changed a whole lot since 49, or 18, for that matter. I still like good drama, instead of crap.… Read more »
I loved this show I was just looking to see when the next season was coming only to find that that was it. This was the most fresh non stupid story line I’ve seen for a long time. Stop making reality shows and start concentrating on shows like this.
This decision makes me not want to watch any more new shows.. either they are cancelled or sold to pay TV companies
I loved this show Ioan Gruffudd is a wonderful actor and I have long been an admirer of Judd Hirsch and Alana De La Garza. After what is life without a little fantasy. The networks seem to think TV viewers are all 18 – 35. Guess what, most of the viewers of Network TV are more mature than that. The younger ones use Netflix, computers and other technology to watch TV. They are losing the people who want them the most. If ABC can’t renew this show can you at least show it on TNT or USA? This was a… Read more »
I very much enjoyed the show. Do not understand the cancellation, it had an interesting premise. Hope you rethink the cancellation.
I was shocked, this is a great story. There is so much crap out there and this didn’t make it?
I used to look forward to Tuesdays first Agents of Shield and then Forever.
If there is a chance this mistake can be reversed it sure would be nice.
What were you thinking ABC?
