TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Shame on ABC!!! This was one of the best shows on TV. No garbage in it. The show had fantasy, intrigue, humour and mystery. After the “Final Death of Henry Morgan” episode, and you knew he was telling Jo….it opened the doors to so many possibilities for fans to look forward to. With the movie “The Age of Adeline” doing so well at the box office, I fail to understand ABC’s logic. After all….this movie is a direct take off of the show!!!
All the Big Wigs at ABC seem to care more about the ratings then the people that watch the show “FOREVER” That’s pretty damn sad,I love the show,Watched it from the Preview and continued to watch ALL the Episodes, and for you to Cancel FOREVER is TOTALLY UNFORGIVABLE, Rethink About what your doing, and Let FOREVER STAY!!!! How can you let so many fans be DISAPPOINTED??? BRING FOREVER BACK!!!!!!!!! I’m half sick over this.
OMG my family doesn’t know why abc would cancel a good wholesome show I hope someone will pick this show up Bring FOREVER BACK
If ABC cancels this show it will be a big mistake. It appeals to the adult viewers that don’t appreciate juvenile situations that are silly, loud, boisterous, and downright lacking in family appeal.
I agree Patricia!! I love the relationship between Abe and Henry!!
I don’t watch many TV shows, but I do watch this one and love it. Talked to a couple of friends last night who also really like it. I think a lot of shows have low ratings because of the way we get them these days. The networks have butchered up the videos by adding advertising all over the screen. People are waiting for things to go to Netflix or DVD so they can watch it the way it is supposed to be watched. Also, since so many series are cancelled too early on, a lot of people wait to… Read more »
I agree cut out the ads, if we wanted to watch ads we would of watched it on reg tv!! Now I am feeling like I am paying to watch commercials!
Very disappointed to hear FOREVER has been cancelled. It was a very impressive show. We love the relationship between Ioan Gruffudd and Alana de la Garza. I was hoping that they would build a love relationship in the series. Alana de la Garza is a terrific actress. She has built a great connection between Ioan Gruffudd and herself. The situation of cancelling a terrific show before it can find its audience is not right. This was not another show. It has incredible flashbacks into the past of Ioan Gruffudd. The cast was made up of fantastic actors. The stories had… Read more »
I’m seriously depressed about this!
i really love this show i can’t believe they didn’t make an effort to bring it back.
Please do not cancel this program. This has become my favorite show each week. It’s not fair to put it on opposite the very popular Castle which is one that I also like. I dvr Castle and watch Forever first. Judd Hirsch is one of my favorite actors and I will miss this show. I hope you do not leave us hanging just when they are about to tell Jo why he is in this very old picture. PLEASE reconsider and give them a time slot other than Monday at ten.
To Whom It May Concern:
ABC you made a serious mistake. Bring back Forever. Warner Brothers, please search other networks and find one intelligent enough to pick up this exceptional show.
I love this Show! Its one of the shows that the whole family can watch. It has about everything a person can want without going to the extreme. I am very disappointed that it got cancelled.
I am very disapointed to learn that Forever is cancelled. However, I am not suprised. It is an interesting, intelligent and entertaining show with limitless possibilities for the story lines. It seems that networks do not want to make an effort to allow more complex shows time to develop a strong audience. Remember, Cheers was proposed for cancellation during its first season and look what happened there.
I’m so very disappointed that the network is ending this wonderfully well done drama. I’ve lived everything about this show from the beginning and am so disappointed to see the network axe quLity programming while keeping awful and marginal shows. It’s an awful decision.
so upset – we LOVE Forever – it is the only show we watch together all we other than Shark Tank. Please reconsider!
Forever has great writing, cleaver story, and exceptional acting…what happened? This show is brilliant. Couldn’t the network moved it to another day if ratings is the issue?…instead of just canceling it outright? We thoroughly enjoy this show…hopefully another network will pick it up.
OMG…why would you cancel such a good show…the whole family watches it even my small grandkids love it…stop canceling the good shows and leaving the crappy ones on…..the show is unique and awesome,, put it in a different time slot….Netflix pick this show up please, ABC making another bad choice….#SAVE FOREVER #BRING FOREVERBACK
