TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
We loved it…….so sad to see it go. It really was intriguing to watch and wholesome! I liked Animal Practice too……
Why was Forever cancelled??? It was a great show! Great writing!! The cast, etc… I think it’s a terrible shame it was cancelled. I rarely care about most of the shows that get cancelled, but Forever was really entertaining! And my husband and I actually agreed on a show, which we rarely do. What a big bummer!! Sure wish they’d bring it back!
I couldn’t believe it when my daughter told me it was cancelled! Then when I picked up my sons, they also told me! My husband, myself, and our kids all love this show. It’s one of our top 3 shows of the year!!!!! Horribly sad that there aren’t going to be more episodes!!!!
Why do the graduates of Moron University (also known as ABC) believe that everyone in the country ascribes to television that does nothing but contribute to the dumbing down of America? Forever is brilliant, with a first class ensemble cast of actors, intelligent, intriguing storylines, witty, sad, funny and completely captivating. I looked forward to Tuesdays and made sure that I had no plans at 10:00 other than watch Forever. I recorded every episode, have watched them all half a dozen time, miss it terribly and want it back desperately. If ABC is too stupid to bring it back, maybe… Read more »
A very good show with wonderful actors, the story lines include a good chunk of history always a bonus instead of one thread throughout the entire show. If the powers to be read this, and they should, please count me among the sizable legion of fans and keep this excellent show on the air “Forever” no, seriously don’t cancel this show.
It is one of the few shows we really enjoyed watching on a weekly basis. I am very disappointed in ABC decision to cancel Forever and hoping they might reconsider.
It’s a great show, everyone I know watches and enjoys it. ABC executives are dimwit for not giving Forever a chance to reach a wider audience. The show should not be cancelled.
Idiots
No!!! They need to bring it back this show was great
If ABC IS NOT GOING TO GIVE IT A SECOND SEASON IS NETFLIX OR YAHOO TV PICKING IT UP BECAUSE THE SHOW DESERVES A SECOND SEASON. If u are continuing the middle then forever should also get a season.
Why was Forever cancelled. What BOZO or BoZo’s made that decision? Why, why would a show so good, one of the best on all of the channels be cancelled. I really would like to know.
That’s a darn shame….bring it back!!! Why do you people cancel good clean shows and bring back smutty ones????? I guess smut sells…..bad shape this world. BRING IT BACK!!!!
Big mistake. Guess not enough sex. Hope CBS pickes it up. ABC had a winner but not smart enough to recognize it.
Wow…ABC must have forgotten their audience…those of us that don’t spend 24/7 texting/tweeting…etc. They killed another really good show that sparked interest on every level…acting, writing, storyline…but, keep reality shows that appear to be mostly about other people’s lives, who can’t act, and certainly don’t have a story that many want to know about. Seems like the reality shows are taking over the major networks…they are All cancelling well-written and appreciated shows…alas…
What a shame this was a great show, well written, well acted and not the same old garbage that is usually on. ABC you made a big mistake here and I am sure you will lose more viewers to Netflix etc. because there is absolutely nothing worth watching on T.V. stupid reality shows and more cop shows with the same old story line. It is to bad the network executives do not bother to ask people what they would like to see on T.V. they just assume everyone likes the mindless drivel that is on now or maybe that is… Read more »
