Galaxy Quest has a new scribe. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fresh Off the Boat star Paul Scheer will take over as writer for the Amazon TV show.
Based on the 1999 film, the comedy “centered on the cast of a canceled, beloved sci-fi show that was forced to reunite to save the planet after aliens believe their show was real.” The movie starred Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, and Sam Rockwell.
Scheer is replacing the film’s writer Robert Gordon on the Prime Video reboot series. Gordon will still executive produce the project alongside Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein. As of now, it’s unclear if any of the movie’s original stars will return for the Galaxy Quest TV show.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Galaxy Quest? Would you watch the reboot?
Will be watching it as long as it is on TV and not just for Amazon. There are not many good TV series left. All the shows are sex, crime, violence, and drugs. We need more family shows. Any show with Tim Allen would be good. I enjoyed Home Improvement and Last Man Standing. Last Man Standing was cancelled due to the star’s political beliefs even when it had the highest rating. So much for freedom of speech.
Yes, sounds like great fun!
Yes, I would definitely watch if the let Tim Allen play the part of the captain or at least a now retied captain. The movie is very funny and one of my families favorites. By looking at the writers they’ve chosen, I believe that this will not only be funny but successful!!!
