Game of Silence premiered on NBC this week, but the executive producer of the series had the long haul in mind when he created season one. The series, which stars Michael-Raymond James and David Lyons, is a bit darker than the usual programming seen on network television, but Hodgins is hoping that the series brings in viewers because of the characters and their story.
According to David Hodgins, the finale of the program’s first season will help launch a new direction for season two.
Hodgins spoke about the new drama with TV Insider, and he spoke in detail about the finale of this first season. He said:
“Look, the finale has some incredibly shocking twists and some incredibly shocking reveals that were, I feel, earned and will pay off the story. And if you watch the show, you’re going to get the sense of satisfaction. Some of the stories are going to come to an end, but we wanted to make sure we had cliffhangers and stories that we’re going to continue in the future. I’ll tell you, Act 5 of the finale just sort of reorients the show in such a shocking way that I really think and hope people are going to watch it and go, “Oh my God, I did not see that coming. So this is where this is going.” So by the end, you will get a sense of satisfaction and resolution for the stories we’ve been telling in Season 1, but with the twists that come at the end, it’ll rocket into a whole other level in Season 2.”
Game of Silence aired twice this week, and the premiere performed well with a lead-in of The Voice, but the second episode saw a 38 percent drop in viewers.
Did you watch Game of Silence this week? Will you continue to watch? Tell us what you think.
Love this show… especially when you experience sexual abuse and just the abuse it really touches our family it’s the best show out there
Love the show!!! Please give it a chance to get a audience!!!!!
Love the show
Loved it and the actors that are in it!
We did not realize that the show came on Thursday as well a will be watching all future episodes, enjoyed what we’ve seen so far. Trying to figure out where the story takes place, TX??
Great writing. Loved to drama. A must see for this household.
I absolutely love this show!!! But NBC has a bad track record with new shows. Why would premiere a new show one day if it’s going Tobe shown on a different day???? Of course you lost viewers how were we to know of the change ?? I had to google what the regular airing day was. NBC needs to do better with how they handle their shows and maybe they’d be a little more successful
Love the show! Reminds me of Sleepers wnich I watch at least once a year. Please give more depth Larenz Tate, as he is one the greatest actors. Thought it was coming on.tonight. Too bad I have to wait until Thursday, and I will. Congrats on 2nd season added.
Please don’t cancel! I love this show 🙂
I watched Game of Silence and encouraged a few friends to watch it also. We all liked it and we’re looking forward to watching more episodes. When will it air again?
Do not cancel. We love it
Grea show – absolutely loving it
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SHOW!!! Love David Lyons!! This is a story that is actually not uncommon…I knew a young man that experienced something very similar when in an orphanage for young boys so the story is important. Secondly, if it’s not getting seen it’s because it was not promoted much. I never heard about it until I saw it scheduled that first Tuesday night. It’s every bit as good as Scandal or Empire or Revenge (was). Don’t cancel it, just market/promote it better.
The LONG HAUL? How many shows is NBC going to renew below the 1.0 mark? They renewed GRIMM, but that’s been on for 5 seasons. This network is so horribly out of control it isn’t funny. There are so many people at this network that need to be fired. It’s a disgrace.
I REALLY LIKE THIS SHOW. IT HAS A GREAT PLOT. GOOD ACTING.
