TV show description:
This TV series stars Alexandra Wentworth as Dr. Elizabeth Goode, a therapist who works with celebrities. Because they live life in the fast lane, these famous people need help dealing with their personal issues and often just need Dr. Goode to listen. However, she’s judgmental and argumentative so she’s more likely to judge them than to make them feel better.
Dr. Goode graduated from Wellesley College, Magna Cum Laude, and earned her Master’s Degree at John Hopkins University. She doesn’t have a lot of experience in her field, yet it has allowed her to create an unconventional approach to help her famous clients. This tough love method ends up being what her celebrity clientele are looking for, making her extremely popular with stars who are surrounded by “yes men.”
Dr. Myron Finkelstein (Steve Landesberg) has an opposing point of view. He’s more of a Freudian psychiatrist and much more old school. He tends to root all problems back to his clients’ childhoods. He graduated, barely, with an MD, but his practice has been hurting since Dr. Goode arrived in the practice. Lola Buckingham (Michelle Arthur) is the office’s receptionist, but she likes to refer to herself as “Celebrity Ambassadress.” She will do whatever she can to get an “in” with the celebrities that come through Dr. Goode’s office.
Celebrities that have found themselves on Dr. Goode’s couch include Rosanna Arquette, Andy Dick, Ione Skye, Lea Thompson, Richard Kind, James Denton, David Alan Grier, Greg Grunberg, Monica Potter, Joel Madden, Christopher Lloyd, Jason Lewis, Jonathan Silverman Jennifer Finnigan, Ahmet Zappa, Trudie Styler, Cindy Margolis, and Jeff Goldblum.
