The rebranding of Spike TV to Paramount Network just got a big boost. The Heathers and American Woman TV shows, which were originally set to premiere on TV Land, will now instead run on Paramount Network, when it launches in January of 2018.
Heathers is a reboot of the 1988 Winona Ryder / Christian Slater feature film. The cast includes Victoria Cox, James Scully, Melanie Field, Brendan Scannell, and Jasmine Mathews, as well as Shannen Doherty, who also starred in the original movie.
American Woman is inspired by the life of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards. The cast includes Alicia Silverstone, Mena Suvari, Makenna James, and Lia Ryan McHugh.
According to Variety, the Viacom-owned Paramount Network will draw programming from other Viacom brands, such as TV Land, BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nick Jr., and Nickelodeon.
What do you think? Do you plan to check out the American Woman and Heathers TV shows, when they premiere on Paramount Network?
