TV show description:
This drama series is a coming-of-age story about Marti Perkins (Aly Michalka), a pre-law student at Memphis’ Lancer University. Marti is a hip townie with working class roots who’s dependent on a scholarship to attend college. Her world is turned upside down when her school funding is cancelled and her irresponsible but well-meaning mother, Wanda (Gail O’Grady), forgets to tell her.
With no money or options, Marti realizes that the only way she can stay in school is by winning a place on the Hellcats — Lancer’s legendary cheer squad — and securing the scholarship that comes with it. She’d been a rising star in gymnastics but abruptly quit in her senior year of high school. Despite some serious attitude from some on the team, Marti impresses at tryouts and is soon thrust into a world of camaraderie, backstabbing, and competition.
Her new roommate is Savannah Monroe (Ashley Tisdale), a petite and peppy Texan who’s also the captain of the Hellcats. Savannah’s led a sheltered life and was home-schooled by her strictly religious parents. They recently had a falling out, particularly over her new co-ed living arrangements and the racy Hellcats outfits. Savannah’s faith is still important to her, but she’s also a fierce competitor, and loves her role as captain of the squad.
The fact that Savannah was chosen to be captain is a sore spot with another squad member, Alice Verdura (Heather Hemmens). She was on track to become captain until Savannah transferred in and snapped up the position. To make matters worse, she’s been injured.
Architecture student Lewis Flynn (Robbie Jones) gave up Lancer football and joined the squad after becoming disillusioned by corruption in the program. He’s only been cheerleading for a year but has found it to be every bit as challenging and competitive as football.
Lewis has moved on from his relationship with Alice, despite her still having strong feelings for him. He’s more than a little interested in the squad’s newest star, Marti.
Thankfully, there’s a familiar face at school, Dan Patch (Matt Barr). They’ve been best friends since first grade. He still lives with his large, working class family and works the docks as a machinist in his spare time. A budding documentary filmmaker, Dan is never without his camera.
Overseeing all the practices and personal drama is former Hellcats star and current coach Vanessa Lodge (Sharon Leal). Vanessa has a history with football coach Red Raymond (Jeff Hephner). That creates some conflict between Vanessa and her fiance, the Hellcats’ team doctor, Derek (D.B. Woodside).
Vanessa’s in very real danger of losing her job if the squad doesn’t win the upcoming nationals. Just like Marti, her future is riding on the Hellcats ascending to the very top of the fiercely competitive cheerleading world.
Episode 22 — I’m Sick Y’all
Strep throat hits Lancer, and the Hellcats find themselves a few members short as they prepare for Nationals, leaving the squad dangerously close to being disqualified. After the surprising discovery that they are half-sisters, Marti and Deidre hit some major road bumps in their relationship.
First aired: May 17, 2011.

Damn, it’s one of the few series I really liked, and there ain’t gonna be more seasons? that was a huge dissapointment but I’ll live.
Just wish that they could keep Hellcats going. 🙁
I am still upset about this stupid crap just like I’m still pretty peeved about the secret circle getting canceled and the nine live of close king don’t no if they all came on the same channel or not. When u get in to a series and can’t wait till next season then come to find out there is no next season it make you want to stop watching the new stuff because why watch it they are just goin to cancel it because they want give it a damn chance in hell. It’s all a bunch of bull!!!!!!!
Exactly!! I agree a hundred percent!!!
Bring the show back now!!!
One tree hill wanna be’s!
i need to see Hellcats again!
Hellcats, Supernatural & Smallville 3 my favorite shows to watch….that is 3 shows i dont mind watch reruns to point.. but when show only new for maybe 1/3 the year rest are all reruns and trashie Reality Shows.. when something shows 2 x and not back on for 6months how can you expect to keep followers on any show….
If you ask me, CW set Hellcats up to fail when they changed their timeslot and put them up against Dancing with the Stars! Of course a fairly new show isn’t going to be popular in that timeslot. I’m not sure how you track ratings, but does it take into consideration how many people DVR the show or watch it online?
I hope you will reconsider cancelling the show. Its a good show. shows struggles of being in college and choices that have to be made to stay in and go for your dreams… PLEASE have a season 2 of Hellcats
please dont cancel the show myself and all of my friends love it, dont know how you work out your ratings but they suck, you give us a good show now we wont know what happens next thats just so wrong !!!! not happy.
I c/n believe you cancelled Hellcats on CW. I really like this show I just new when you all moved it from Wed to Tues. that this might happen.
I hope you all will get enough e-mails that that you might reconsider.
Please keep the show running. It is a good and interesting show. I love how all the players interact with each other. So please keep the show going. I love all the characters especially Dan and Sannavaha and Marty’s new fling. The show cannot quit without us all knowing if the two of them are going to make ago at it.

Please don’t cancel the show,… Seriously The Way you guys do Ratings sucks & is incorrect & does not give a accurate description of the ratings the show gets or its popularity,… Jump online and go on any torrent site and you’ll see 1,000’s of people downloading or streaming the shows,… & it’s like that on every site,… 1,000’s of sites with 1,000’s of people downloading or streaming,… So you really need to update the way you use your technology to get more accurate ratings on shows,… You guys keep canceling extremely popular shows without a clue on their popularity,…… Read more »
