Nexstar Media Group to Align BiteSizeTV Strategy with Organization-Wide Commitment to Local Programming and Content Production
April 7, 2017
“HOLLYWOOD TODAY LIVE!” TO END PRODUCTION
LOS ANGELES, California and IRVING, Texas – Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) (“Nexstar” or “The Company”) announced today that plans are underway to bring the strategy for BiteSizeTV in alignment with the Company’s organization-wide commitment to local programming and content production. As a result, its wholly-owned subsidiary, Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc. (“Nexstar Broadcasting”) and FOX Television Stations, Inc. (“FOX”) will end Hollywood Today LIVE!, a one-hour, nationally syndicated daily entertainment news and talk variety show produced by BiteSizeTV. The final telecast of Hollywood Today LIVE! will air on April 28, 2017.
Commenting on the announcement, Perry A. Sook, Chairman, President and CEO of Nexstar Media Group, Inc. stated, “Nexstar is in the local media business and we remain focused on extending our legacy of local programming and content leadership by supporting the evolving needs and interests of our local viewers, hometown businesses and community organizations that we proudly serve each day. We are now evaluating other opportunities where we can create value from BiteSizeTV to generate positive results. Nexstar looks forward to continuing our relationship with FOX Television Stations and our partners at FOX Television.”
Nexstar obtained BiteSizeTV as part of its acquisition of Media General Inc. earlier this year. Hollywood Today LIVE! began as a pilot program on FOX-owned television stations in July 2014. Following its initial debut, Media General and FOX launched Season 1 of the nationally syndicated show across their respective broadcast platforms in September 2015 and Season 2 began airing in September 2016. FOX Television and Nexstar conducted a thorough analysis of Hollywood Today LIVE! and were unable to find a sufficient audience to support continued national syndication.

I just stared watching this Hollywood live about a month ago and I love it. And now you guys are all done this week. What….. I didn’t realize what a fun and laughter I was missing. such nice and sweet cast that really do care about each other on and off the air. I will miss watching.
HTC is cancelled? Why is it that, when a show makes people laugh always gets cancelled. There is too much violence on TV and we cant even have a good show anymore. This must be another Trump thing. Stores are closing (Family Christian), Gordmans, Sears. And now awesome shows are being cancelled. Come on Nexstar step up and renew HTC.
This is such a fun and positive show and I am truly sad to see it end. What can we fans do to change this decision? These 4 co-hosts share the stage in such a selfless and entertaining way. If I were a producer I would grab them for a new show. Can’t believe that “other shows” continue while this one gets the axe!
Ross, Garcelle, Tanner, Ali, Amanda, Kristin, and all the other special guests that has filled in we just want to say THANK YOU for all the memories and we will always LOVE YOU for daily lifting our spirits!!! Lastly, Tanner is one of the sexiest guy
Steven: agree with you 100% on Tanner. Great sense of humor, smart, stylish, down-to-earth, very handsome, and smokin’ body. Sexy!
I love this show. Do not cancel!!!

So sad to hear HTL is cancelled…I love it and watch every day…the cast, crew and guests are laughing all the time…it’s contagious and makes my afternoon. Ross, don’t take too long finding another gig…we need you on tv.
I’m sad to see it go. It’s one hour a day I can let go and and genuinely laugh and be entertained. I’m gonna miss all of you and hope to see you guys in other opportunities.
I am so disappointed this show is ending. I loved everybody on it. Especially Ross. He needs his own show again. I looked forward to it everyday. I loved that it was light and fun and not political and heavy. Tanner I had never heard of before but he is excellant and needs to be seen. I hope they don’t fill in with a news program or something political!
