Yesterday, Hallmark Channel announced that host Cristina Ferrare would be replaced as co-host by regular contributor Debbie Matenopoulos. The cable channel didn’t specify when the change would take place.
Today, co-host Mark Steines made a quick announcement that Ferrare had left the show and that Matenopoulos would be replacing her, effective immediately. Ferrare hadn’t been on the show for two weeks and didn’t return for a send-off.
Fans of the show have been concerned if Ferrare was sick and have been wondering if the decision to leave was her decision. On her Facebook page, Ferrare confirmed that she is not sick and essentially says that she was fired. She wrote:
Okay here goes, I feel it’s important to finally step up to the plate and let you know what is happening.
First may I say that my family and I have been so thankful and appreciative for all the love, support, prayers, and good wishes you have been sending me on a daily basis for the past three weeks. It pained me so that I was unable to let you know what was going on out of respect for everyone on Home and Family and the Network. I was asked to wait and I have but now I feel I should out of respect for YOU let you know.
It’s really very simple, Home and Family will have a season 5 which I am so happy for and the Network decided that they want a new co-host and that will be Debbie. She will do a great job!
You can still reach me here on facebook and we shall continue honoring love of family and friends. I truly LOVE you all. You have been my rainbow!

It does not please me that Christina was let go and replaced with a Debbie. I have never really cared for Debbie and feel she is a fake and does not truly represent the Hallmark Channel and Home and Family. My desire watch the show is gone because Debbie just has too big of a personality and Mark needed Christina to off-set is high ego personality.

Sad. Christine was the better host. I never liked Mark. I thought he was a jerk and acts fake.
I am truly saddened that Hallmark would be so superficial & choose a different co-host! I am a military spouse that’s been living away from my family for going on four year’s due to my husband’s assignment, and when I discovered the show “Home & Family” I fell in love. It felt like a true family on air & that made me feel so good that I quickly told everyone I talked to about it. Hallmark Channel is going in the wrong direction with many of its recent decisions. Firing Christina from Home and Family, and canceling Cedar Cove are two that stand out. Cedar Cove was more mature just like Christina Ferrare. As am I. You have lost this viewer, and I am sure many more.
Christina is so real and a perfect duo with Mark! Her personality was why I started following the show. I will not watch now. Christina just has the X Factor. Debbie is like a million others women., and too young to relate to more mature viewers. You made a BIG MISTAKE. HUGE!
HALLMARK listen to your viewers please BRING CRISTINA BACK! But allow her to pick her Co-Host(s)! Shame on you too MARK as well as the PRODUCERS of H&F. Cristina is now doing a weekly food segment on MARIASHRIVER.COM. Maria also posted a video on her website…..

I don’t like Debbie as the new Co-host. Cristina and Mark were awesome. I wish Cristina was back. Seems like Debbie tries a little too hard to fit in. I don’t like the show anymore. I haven’t been watching anymore.
Yes I agree with everybody The show has lost one of the best parts of the show. The new Female host is FAKE HOLLYWOOD FAKE Normal people do not live like HOLLYWOOD people just not real I like MARK, HE IS REAL. Most people are worrying about providing for thIer family. Feel the show has taken a wrong turn but time will tell. Won’t be watching.
Stopped watching H&F because I was tired of Mark putting down Kym day after day. Christina was great. H&F got rid of the wrong host. Bring Christina back and get rid of Mark and I will start watching H&F again.

I do miss Christina and Mark together it didn’t appear to be a artiifial friendship.
I loved Home and Family with Christina and Mark as cohosts. Christina gave the show warmth and class. She did not overdo the dress, only dressing up when it was a special show. I truly miss seeing her on the show. Sorry Debbie.
I am no longer interested in watching Home & Family without Christina Ferrare. She was the reason I watched the show.
Since Cristina is gone you lost alot of personality. I won’t be watching it anymore
