Yesterday, Hallmark Channel announced that host Cristina Ferrare would be replaced as co-host by regular contributor Debbie Matenopoulos. The cable channel didn’t specify when the change would take place.
Today, co-host Mark Steines made a quick announcement that Ferrare had left the show and that Matenopoulos would be replacing her, effective immediately. Ferrare hadn’t been on the show for two weeks and didn’t return for a send-off.
Fans of the show have been concerned if Ferrare was sick and have been wondering if the decision to leave was her decision. On her Facebook page, Ferrare confirmed that she is not sick and essentially says that she was fired. She wrote:
Okay here goes, I feel it’s important to finally step up to the plate and let you know what is happening.
First may I say that my family and I have been so thankful and appreciative for all the love, support, prayers, and good wishes you have been sending me on a daily basis for the past three weeks. It pained me so that I was unable to let you know what was going on out of respect for everyone on Home and Family and the Network. I was asked to wait and I have but now I feel I should out of respect for YOU let you know.
It’s really very simple, Home and Family will have a season 5 which I am so happy for and the Network decided that they want a new co-host and that will be Debbie. She will do a great job!
You can still reach me here on facebook and we shall continue honoring love of family and friends. I truly LOVE you all. You have been my rainbow!

I really miss Christina, she had class, Debbie is just too mouthy and fake. I will no longer watch H&F.
This is how I felt when they let Chuck Woolery go…he was so classy, bright, caring…and when they let him go, I was sooo stunned. Now Christina gets t he same treatment.
I have been so disappointed in the show. Debbie seems to be a nice person but she’s a little spazzing. Christina just brought so much class to the show. She has years of experience and knowledge she brought to the show. Her personalty just made u want to relax and listen and there was such a family feel between her and Mark. I will no longer watch Home and Family because Christina Ferrare is not there’! I really miss her andI know that millions do too!
You don’t have a show without Christina, You will find that out real soon. We are so sick of you ( cable channels ) of doing whatever you want with no regard for the viewers who can make or break your show. Dump Mark he’s a rude individual and lends nothing to the show. So in conclusion you can stick your show where the sun don’t shine.

I will not be watching that show anymore or any other hallmark channels! No hallmark cards either. It’s a shame that we can’t see the good in people when age is a factor. By the the way she is beautiful in and out and a classy lady. You scewed up Hallmark!
I agree with everyone who has made a comment supporting Christina Ferrare. What was Hallmark thinking?! You have made this impulsive decision and just alienated the majority of your viewers. Don’t you get that young people are NOT the people watching the Hallmark Channel! Are you serious?!! It is the young person’s MOTHER who is your viewer!! Your viewers are mainly woman over 50 I would imagine and woman who identified with Christina Ferrare and the reason they would have EVER tuned in to Home & Family!! I’m out and in fact will reduce my cable by going to a lesser package without Hallmark. So to the bone headed execs that made this decision, you too will age, but not as gracefully as Christina. Shame on you. As a baby boomer with buying power I will speak with my wallet.

Christina was my reason for watching this show..she was funny, brillant, and so warm to all. I liked Mark too but would not have continued to watch because of him, sorry Mark…I will not be watching ow…I hope she will be on something else soon..I will be waiting for her to have a new show.
I’m very sorry Christina is no longer on the shiow! I think she had a great personality and did an awesome job and nothing against her replacement but no I I won’t be watching it.
