If you’ve been waiting for the return of FOX’s Human Target series, you’ll have to wait quite awhile longer.
When FOX cancelled Lone Star, they rescheduled the third season premiere of Lie to Me to take its place on Monday. Lie to Me was originally supposed to return on Wednesday, November 17th. To fill that timeslot, they’ve now delayed the return of Human Target.
After already being delayed a week, Human Target was supposed to return this Friday, October 1st, at 8pm. While its unfortunate that fans will have to wait another six weeks for the return of Christopher Chance (Mark Valley) and company, this may be advantageous for the show’s future.
The series performed pretty well in on Wednesday nights last season and Friday nights are understandably always tough to attract a decent-sized audience in the target demo.
Here’s the official press release from FOX…
HOT FROM FOX… “HUMAN TARGET” SEASON TWO PREMIERE MOVES TO WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 17, ON FOX
Season Two of FOX’s hit series HUMAN TARGET will premiere Wednesday, Nov. 17 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.Picking up from the heart-pounding first season cliffhanger, the new season of HUMAN TARGET kicks off with a bang as CHANCE (Mark Valley) and GUERRERO (Jackie Earle Haley) race to rescue their kidnapped associate, WINSTON (Chi McBride). Vowing to retire from the security business, Chance is lured back to work by billionaire philanthropist ILSA PUCCI (new series regular Indira Varma), who needs his protection after the mysterious murder of her husband. While on assignment, the team encounters AMES (new cast member Janet Montgomery), a beautiful, chameleon-like thief who has a past connection to Winston.
HUMAN TARGET returns to Wednesdays, where last season it ranked No. 1 in its 8:00-9:00 PM time period among Adults 18-49, Adults 25-54, Teens and Total Viewers.
Based on the DC Comics comic book and graphic novel, HUMAN TARGET is a full-throttle action drama centered on a unique personal security expert hired to shield those in danger from an imminent threat that cannot be solved through normal means of protection.
HUMAN TARGET is a production of Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Television. McG, Matthew Miller, Jonathan E. Steinberg, Brad Kern and Peter Johnson serve as executive producers. What do you think? Are you sorry the show’s been delayed? Do you think the new timeslot is a good thing or doesn’t matter?

For two weeks in a row, my TiVo has recorded House because it expected Human Target to be on!
I LOVED Human Target, and I’m glad to find it’s only been delayed, instead of becoming the latest victim of Fox’s policy of murdering great shows, such as Firefly and Dollhouse!
Fox, could you PLEASE rerun the end of the first season of Human Target? There’s NOTHING worth watching on ANY channel on Wednesday currently except Undercovers!
Please!
We have 200+ channels and only watch about 6 shows. Please don’t cancel “Human Target”, it’s a favorite of ours. We will watch any day, any time slot.
Cannot believe Fox is treating this show this way. With Jack and “24” gone there is nothing left on TV beside Human Target and Bones and Tom Selleck! At least by the time Human Target comes on the Baseball season will be over and will not interrupt the shows as I am sure it will do with “Bones” as in the past. Please leave Human Target alive and well on Wednesday.
We hope that FOX is not thinking about canceling “Human Target”. With the networks flooding the American populous with all of these mindless non-reality, reality shows, it is sad when they remain of television, and true entertainment, with story lines written to entertain, such as “Human Target”, are placed on the back burner. We hate seeing the actor of the wonderfully entertaining show, “Keen Eddie”, once again, have his show possibly ended prematurely, again. Keen Eddie was ended after one year with no prior warning or rap up. It happened to Keen Eddy, now with “Human Target”, and yet we… Read more »
This has suspense and the perfect hero character. My husband and I liked the intrigue that Chance brings to the show. We were happy to read that you are bringing it back in Nov. We hope you don’t make another delay. Hopefully the series will extend through the holidays, when there are so many reruns.
My husband and I love this show. Can’t wait till it resumes!
well, that explains why we couldn’t find the first episode!
This is a really good and entertaining show with well-developed and likeable characters, too good to pass by. We’ll be watching whenever!!
I love love the show. Please don’t cancel it!!
I sat down to watch the season premiere on my DVR and couldn’t find it. I was real disappointed BUT I can wait just as long as it WILL return. It is one of the best new series around and I have seen them all. He reminds me of James Bond, serious about his job but not serious about himself. And he is so darn cute. PLEASE, PLEASE DON’T CANCEL HIM!!!
It is great to hear that it will be on Wednesday. Just wish Good Guys was not stuck on Fridays so it could reach its target audience.
I’m older than your target demographic audience and I was thoroughly disappointed when I discovered this show had been delayed. Don’t even think about cancelling it.
Mark Valley is too good of an actor to waste, and the supporting cast is perfect!
We are so disapointed that you have taken Human Target off the air. We truly enjoyed Chance and the characters in this series. We were already to sit down and watch this friday Oct 1, only to find something else in its place. Please put it on what ever night works, we would be faithful watchewrs.
i don’t sit around watching tv 24/7… i have a life… someway, somehow i will manage the time to watch the programs i enjoy watching via “on demand” “dvr” “fancast” “fox.com” etc… whatever time slot a program is placed in is not significant…. geez.
While i am kind of annoyed, i am also really glad because Friday nights are pretty much a death sentence, especially for a new (or fairly new) show. I am also glad because i have more time to catch up because i missed some of the last episodes.
Do you understand the concept of DVR. Numb3ers, Cold Case, Human Target, Ghost Whisperer what the heck are you thinking. This is a recession, most people can’t afford all the chanells that cable or satalite offer and it is only going to get worse. The network seems to be acting like an ostridge, stick it’s head in the sand. If I can’t see it, it doesn’t exsist. You are cancelling shows that fans have followed from the very begining, where is your loyalty to us. Oh, I know your wallet, there are very few shows on tv these days that… Read more »
