What’s This TV Show About?
A CBS crime thriller, based on the James Patterson novel, Murder Games, Instinct stars Alan Cumming, Bojana Novakovic, Daniel Ings, Naveen Andrews, and Sharon Leal. The drama centers on Dr. Dylan Reinhart (Cumming), a former CIA operative who is lured out of his peaceful retirement as a university professor and author, to help NYPD detective Lizzie Needham (Novakovic) catch a serial killer. Dylan’s old CIA colleague, Julian Cousins (Andrews), lends a hand, along with Lizzie’s C.O., Lt. Jasmine Gooden (Leal). Season two kicks off with Dylan reinstated as NYPD consultant, where he can both impress and irritate Lizzie. Meanwhile, Dylan’s husband, Andy (Ings), pursues adoption as a way for the couple to finally become parents.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Instinct averaged a 0.32 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.38 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 49% and 49%, respectively. Find out how Instinct stacks up against the other CBS TV shows.

This was a great show and I’m sad it’s been cancelled. I’m not in the preferred demographic but I am in the demographic of people who actually watch TV and actually buy what’s being advertised.
Very disappointed Instinct has been cancelled. Enjoyed the show and the characters. Hope you will bring back for those who watched the show. Not a lot of good TV shows available these days.

Great show for those of us who despise reality TV – Wrong decision to cancel
I despise reality shows and refuse to watch any of them and when a show that actually holds my attention and can actually have me guessing wrong about the outcome finally comes on it is soon canceled. Instinct is a great show with characters one can connect to, care about, and look forward to seeing what happens next with them, WHY cancel this amazing show? I am so upset to learn that Instinct has been cancelled! I love this show and looked forward to watching it every week! It kills me that the network would cancel something this good and keep crap like the “reality” shows!
Totally bummed that Instinct has been cancelled. I think network executives have chimpanzee brains. Or maybe politician brains. Give us time to watch season 2 before you write off the series.
I’m sorry to see Instinct cancelled. I wish CBS would reconsider. I almost missed watching all of season 2, had no idea it was coming back. Thank goodness my DVR remembered to record programs I like.
It seems every time they get a show worth watching the geniuses who run these networks cancel them. It says over 90 percent of the fans like it so let’s cancel it.
I’m truly sorry that they have decided to cancel the series Instinct, I found the show to be well written and truly entertaining. Unlike Big Brother and Survivor, I don’t know if the network thinks the public is too stupid to follow a plot or if it is just so much cheaper to produce a show that highlights the worst of human nature they just figure with nothing else worth watching on television they will have a captive audience. My God,CBS network execs must have pea sized brains to cancel Instinct. the only show on CBS worth watching. Well written and holds my interest. I hardly watch network TV anymore and this is the major reason why.
All you execs must think with your pants and that is why you are all in the courtroom. Use your BRAINS and renew INSTINCT!!!!! It is well worth it!!!!!
