Josh Holloway enjoyed a long run on Lost but unfortunately he hasn’t been as lucky with Intelligence. The CBS TV show has now been cancelled after one season of 13 episodes.
On Intelligence, Gabriel Vaughn (Holloway) is a high-tech intelligence operative who’s been enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. It allows him to be connected directly into the global information grid. Other castmembers include Marg Helgenberger, Meghan Ory, Michael Rady, John Billingsley, P. J. Byrne, Tomas Arana, Lance Reddick, and Peter Coyote.
After the failure of Hostages, the network was hoping for Intelligence to be a ratings hit to fill their Mondays at 10pm timeslot. It wasn’t to be. Despite some impressive star talent and special effects, the show couldn’t draw enough viewers.
The network debuted it after NCIS on a Tuesday night and the show drew decent numbers but, once it moved to its regular Monday night slot, the ratings tanked. The season of 13 episodes averaged a 1.3 demo rating with 6.85 million viewer, making it one of the lowest-rated shows on the network.
That wasn’t good enough to mandate a second season renewal so Intelligence has been cancelled. The final episode aired on March 31st.
What do you think? Did you like this Josh Holloway series? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?
I can’t believe intelligence did not have a huge audience. The entire cast was really good. I think you should have given the show more time to expand it’s audience. I have many friends and relatives throughout the US. Everyone of them I talked with thought the show was fantastic and had huge potential. Perhaps you guys simply did not give it enough time.
Anyway; I’ll really miss it. I have been anxiously waiting for the second season.

This was a really good show. Canceling it makes no since, finally a good show on CBS beside NCIS and the idiots move it against Monday Night Football. Why not move 1 of the stupid reality shows against MNF and see if they will pull the audience. Who at CBS decides what shows stay and how does he keep his job! Bring Intelligence back please. I only watch CBS 1 night a week and that to see NCIS and NCIS LA.
I absolutely love intelligence. Totally gutted that they have cancelled it. Bad choice
Bring back intelligence.. Very good show!
Bad choice again for CBS!!! What is with them, there is so much comedy crap and finally get a decent show and they cancel it.
DUMB exec’s
I loved this show. Its now showing in Sweden. Im sad that its only been one season!! Make more. Hopfully more people will see it then!
What a absolute joke, why on earth would anyone want to cancel such an amazing show like this its pathetic and i am utterly disgusted every time i find a great Tv show they cancel it for some not so funny sitcom.!!!
it is amazing we cancel all the good shows and renew the numerous comedy shows that I have never watched one of them. its like tv is soely for the 16-25 age groups and never for adults.
We are so disappointed that the best show on tv has been cancelled. If it wasn’t working on Monday night put it back on Tuesday after NCIS, another great show.
PLEASE bring this show back, Please give it another chance for people to start watching it.
I loved this show from day 1. I am so sick of reality Tv. Give me action tv anytime. Very disappointed.
One of the best shows I have seen a while. I usually hate to watch shows that don’t already have a few seasons of established story but this one drew me in. Simple and short is the majority of people who still watch TV through actual cable area all old people and people with no clue. Most people nowadays watch TV online in areas where “ratings” can’t be accurately tracked. This means that the idiotic general public wins out and you get ridiculous shows like all the “real life” garbage shows out there. Then a cool show like this comes… Read more »
no it shouldn’t be cancelled what is the matter with these tv stations so many stupid show’s on then you cancel good ones what gives?? It almost makes me want to cancel tv cause of all the garbage that they put on.
This show is awesome! I can’t believe they’re not making a season 2. They should give it a second chance. It deserves it!
I was rather disappointed to find that Intelligence was cancelled after just one season, if the ratings had decreased after moving time slot why not move it back and retain ratings or do you need to be a genius to work that one out.
You people are idiots for canceling a show of this ambition and caliber without giving it a proper chance. It isn’t like you have nothing but GREAT shows to put on in its place; most of it is garbage.
Here is another free hint: Leave Person of Interest alone…it is one of the best.
