Despite positive reviews, the Jane the Virgin TV show continued to draw very low ratings in season two. Will the numbers improve in season three, now that The CW series has a stronger lead-in like Supergirl? Could Jane be cancelled or, is it essentially guaranteed to be renewed so there will be enough episodes for syndication? Stay tuned.
On Jane the Virgin, a driven 23-year-old woman named Jane (Gina Rodriguez) ends up becoming pregnant thanks to being artificially inseminated by mistake. Once she has the baby, things seem to get even more complicated. She’s caught between the attraction for her detective boyfriend, Michael (Brett Dier), and her boss, Rafael (Justin Baldoni), who’s also her baby’s daddy. Now that she’s married one of them, is the drama over? The rest of the cast includes Andrea Navedo, Yael Grobglas, Ivonne Coll, Jaime Camil, and Anthony Mendez (voice over).
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Jane the Virgin TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
I absolutely love the show Jane the Virgin and I’m on the edge of my seat to see what happens in season four!
Omg , this is one of my favorite television shows , you really gotta keep it up. It literally has you laughing crying and angry at the same time. There neeeeeeds to be a fourth season!!
I want to let you know that I really enjoyed watching Jane the Virgin I hope and pray that you guys don’t you guys do this season cuz how you left it was a tearjerker and I hope that you guys do have four season I really enjoy watching Jane the Virgin and and the shows you put on CW are really good you guys do a really good job
I once LOVED this show, but when Michael died, I quit watching. It seems like it can’t go anywhere now. He and Jane were the best part and main reason I watched the show.
You’re not missing much, looks like they might kill Petra next stupid writters
I love this show!!! Can’t ever stop watching it. I hope there are many many more seasons!! Love Binge watching it online.
I love the show! I sure hope it gets renewed for a 4th season! Even though I hated to see Michael die I appreciated the show runners shocked the viewers with something we weren’t prepared for. I’m enjoying seeing Jane experiment with dating, and Mateo growing into an inquisitive little boy. I know the show can get over the top with the telenovela aspect but it’s fun and quirky to me. I also look forward to Xo and Ro relationship growing. Not sure if I want Jane and Rafael together though.
This show narrator used to say “I know right” which I loved now each episode he mentions this is out of a Telenovela show. Jane wants to have pointless sex? I’ll finish this season to see what happens to Petra but Jane no longer is of any importance. That’s what the script says.
Jane the Virgin is a breath of fresh air among so many tense high action programs. They make the mystery fun to follow while showing real life dilemma’s in a kind heartfelt way.
I think people lose a lot of interest when there are weeks between new episodes mid-season. The plots were better with Michael for some reason. We need a new Michael, not a second Rojelo. Granted he is pretty but he’s just a bit too much right now.
I just want Michael back! I stopped watching when he was killed off.
Boring, stupid show !! Cant believe it is still playing …
I think it has run its course already. I realize it is in telenovela style, but killing off michael made me lose interest, like I did in soaps many years ago. I say end it now while they can. Its not going anywhere.
BRING MICHAEL BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m in mourning!!!
this is my favorite show though
BRING BACK MICHAEL!! Jane’s Dad is the best actor, as he has to over act all the time. I know it’s a nighttime soap opera, don’t make it too complicated. I love it. I lost my husband so I didn’t want that to happen to Jane. Michael could have gone underground to investigate something!
Yes put it on I need it it’s like I can’t live without it Brett is the best and I cannot belive he died in it but now Gina is my favourite
