What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World stars Jason Ritter, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Kimberly Hébert Gregory, Chloe East, J. August Richards, Dustin Ybarra, and India de Beaufort. The fantasy TV series centers on Kevin Finn. While he is not the world’s worst person, Kevin is self-involved and materialistic. While wallowing in his own misery, Kevin experiences a sequence of unbelievable events, then meets Yvette (Gregory), his heavenly guide. She informs him that he is the last of the 36 righteous born into his generation. Without the 36, everyone on Earth will begin to lose the only thing keeping them going — hope. Now, it is up to Kevin to “power up” his soul by committing selfless acts of kindness, so he can locate and anoint the next 36 and (probably) save the world.

Telly’s Take
Kevin (Probably) Saves the World launched with disappointing ratings and they haven’t gotten any better. Though the network has ordered three more episodes, I think the numbers are too low for the series to be renewed for a second season. Clearly, ABC still has a Tuesdays at 10pm problem. Jason Ritter’s skill and aptitude for comedic timing & physical comedy, I think, would make his father very proud; not to mention the exceptional talent he displays in his emotional & dramatic acting abilities. His, and so many of the other characters on this show are absolutely adorable! Notwithstanding any network decision being reached as to the commitment to an ENTIRE additional season, they CANNOT leave the series as it now stands, at the end of episode 16! Kevin Probably Saves the world is a well written, authentic, show that deserves a second chance… It had been a long time that I have waited for a refreshing show that is funny and that is not full of rated R content that can be enjoyed by the family… I hope it gets renewed…. Please.
