On the heels of reversing its decision to renew Z: The Beginning of Everything for a second season, Amazon has cancelled The Last Tycoon TV show, after only one season. The drama series — inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s unfinished novel of the same name — comes from writer and director Billy Ray.
Streaming on the Amazon Prime Video paid subscription platform, The Last Tycoon stars Matt Bomer, Kelsey Grammer, Lily Collins, Rosemarie DeWitt, Dominique McElligott, Enzo Cilenti, Mark O’Brien, Jessica De Gouw, Koen De Bouw, Jennifer Beals, Saul Rubinek, and Eion Bailey. The period drama centers on “Hollywood’s Golden Boy” Monroe Stahr (Bomer). The young producer struggles with studio boss Pat Brady (Grammer), over the path they should take. The two clash, when the Nazi regime informs them that they will have to abide by Hitler’s standards, if they want to release their films in Germany.
Deadline has confirmed The Last Tycoon TV series cancellation.

Why? Great story, great acting. Sorry they are choosing to cancel The Last Tycoon. Bad decision.
Last Tycoon was a great period series. It should not have been canceled
This show needs to go on. The casting and acting are both great. It is a shame for Amazon
to have cancelled.
Show should be brought back. We really enjoyed the plot in this stylized period piece.

I cant believe they would cancel a great production like this. Really great story line, well acted with a superb cast. Was looking forward to season two. To put it bluntly, this really sucks.

Just binged watched this! Loved it. Could’ve done with out the nudity and a bit less language but the story line was awesome! The acting was great! And now I”m on the edge of my seat with what happens to Monroe! BRING IT BACK!!!!
I just binge watched this show, it was wonderful. I loved the characters, costomes and the acting was wonderful. Bring it back and advertise it! I did not know it existed.
