What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Amazon Prime Video paid subscription platform, The Last Tycoon stars Matt Bomer, Kelsey Grammer, Lily Collins, Rosemarie DeWitt, Dominique McElligott, Enzo Cilenti, Mark O’Brien, Jessica De Gouw, Koen De Bouw, Jennifer Beals, Saul Rubinek, and Eion Bailey.
Inspired by the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, the period drama centers on “Hollywood’s Golden Boy” Monroe Stahr (Bomer). The young producer struggles with studio boss Pat Brady (Grammer), over the path they should take. The two clash, when the Nazi regime informs them that they will have to abide by Hitler’s standards, if they want to release their films in Germany. Set during the Great Depression — as Hitler’s influence grows in Europe — The Last Tycoon chronicles the high and lows of the film industry, in 1930s Hollywood.
As of September 11, 2017, The Last Tycoon is cancelled, with no season two. Stay tuned for further updates.

This is a very good period piece, solid acting with distinct characters. Sure it should continue. It’s a period many love and enjoy watching and there is enough tension to drive it forward. So please let’s have more.

Please don’t cancel The Last Tycoon. Season 1 is fantastic television. I could watch season 2,3,4 and 5. I have recommended it to family and friends so keep it going for us.
I like The Last Tycoon. Kelsey Grammer might be the best well known star on the show but if this series continues which I hope it does. We’ll have a couple more newcomers to TV fame. I only can see this wonderful story running for 3 Seasons. Dragging it beyond 3 Seasons will have a negative impact. Also there is no need for complete nudity. Most everyone understands romantic / sexual encounters in today’s society and it doesn’t need to be exploited or indulged. Last Tycoon shouldn’t be made into an *** pornography film. Aw, c’mon Amazon, with so much crap out there give us some more quality TV. Sometimes the writing and fine acting feel more like a night at the theatre than just a couch potato period piece. Refreshing and well done. Continue!
I absolutely LOVED season 1 of The Last Tycoon. I want more…so many subplots, lots of meat for another season. Stahr cannot die yet. Not without a long drawn out farewell. We have to watch him take down Brady OR Brady destroy himself. Kathleen? She doesn’t deserve him. Love Max, Celia, Rose and Aubrey characters. Well done. Bravo!

I just finished watching the last tycoon and I am already missing it. It is a very good show. All the characters are so attractive that we would like to know more about them. I hope this serie continues to season 2.
Last Tycoon is fantastic..one of the smartest most creative shows I’ve seen.. please bring it back for season 2 +.
