Last season, Life in Pieces had a positive start in the ratings but the numbers fell quite a bit by the end of season one. The show could have been cancelled but CBS renewed it instead. Will the numbers continue to fall in season two? Will there be a third season? Stay tuned.
Life in Pieces revolves around four branches of the Short family tree and their sometimes awkward, funny, and touching milestones. The family’s lives unfold in four short stories each episode. The season two cast includes James Brolin, Dianne Wiest, Thomas Sadoski, Angelique Cabral, Colin Hanks, Zoe Lister-Jones, Niall Cunningham, Betsy Brandt, Dan Bakkedahl, Giselle Eisenberg, Holly J. Barrett, and Hunter King.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/12 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Life in Pieces on CBS averaged a 2.00 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.69 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Life in Pieces TV show on CBS? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season three?
3/23 update: Life in Pieces has been renewed for season three on CBS. Details here.
I Love the show. Please, Please keep it.
Please keep it!! I love the show so much!! I look forward to it every week and even leave it on my DVR to watch over again!!! PLEASE DONT TAKE THIS AWAY!!!!!
Please renew this hilarious show!!! I love it and if you feel there has been a lull in ratings, you have no one to blame but yourself, CBS! Put it on behind Big Bang-I’m sure the ratings will fly high!! I think you do NOT put very much time or money advertising this show. You may need a few special guests (how about old Tom Hanks?) or a couple of over-the-top episodes., like when Mom got high with Martin Mull. This is a fabulous ensemble show and I love every character. Do NOT throw this to the wayside-if you are… Read more »
Awesome comedy,
One of the best ensemble shows ever
Renew! Love it! For anyone who has a bit of a quirky, weird or just full on crazy family. This is entertainment at its best! ❤️
So bad. So so so bad. CANCEL!
But yet you continue to watch through almost the end of the second season. Your comment would have been valid on the very first or second episode, not like the 30th
You can change the channel, don’t ruin it for the rest of us
Love this show! Hope it isn’t cancelled!
Renew Love this show wish it was on every day
Love the show and hoping for more seasons!!
I love the show! I think all the characters fit perfectly together. Difentently one of the funniest and well written shows.
BRING ON SEASON 3!!!!!!! LOVE THIS SHOW
I loved this show, but seeing the actors attitudes after the election, I hope they get cancelled mid season too. Mixing politics and business… seldom works for your good. I didn’t vote for Trump, but I did vote, and he will be my president, as will he be yours Hunter King… unless you pack up, leave and denounce your U.S. citizenship, which you are always free to do.
The only comedy worth watching, in my opinion. For the most part, short, funny sketches that have some tie together.
Ha. Oh my god. They just keep dropping. Maybe they’ll hopefully just get axed mid season this year and good riddance.
