What’s in store for the series finale of Life in Pieces? Recently, creator Justin Adler spoke with TVInsider about the end of the CBS TV show.
The family sitcom, which is currently in its fourth and final season, follows four branches of the Short family tree. Although they’re a big happy clan, that doesn’t mean there are no awkward moments amidst their funny and moving milestones. The cast includes Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, Zoe Lister-Jones, Colin Hanks, Angelique Cabral, Thomas Sadoski, Betsy Brandt, Dan Bakkedahl, Niall Cunningham, Holly J. Barrett, Giselle Eisenberg, and Hunter King.
In the interview, Adler revealed the upcoming Life in Pieces series finale was “never designed as a series finale.” So what can fans expect from the end of the CBS TV show?
Adler says a job opportunity for Matt (Sadoski) will test his relationship with Colleen (Cabral):
Just as he finally has a family, a dream job threatens to separate him from those he loves most. It felt real to us.”
The series finale of Life in Pieces debuts on CBS tonight, June 27th, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
What do you think? Do you watch Life in Pieces? Would you have watched a fifth season?
This is a very funny show. CBS is making a mistake by canceling this show. The ending last night left many questions that will remain unanswered. CBS shows, in general, have become less interesting over the last few years as they have begun moving quality content to the All Access platform. It’s a shame that they choose to hide it away from people.
We were stunned to see the last episode and learn that this great show has been cancelled… It was our favorite sitcom!! CBS, a big mistake for your network. The actors on this show worked so well together. I hope another network will pick this up next season.
Very disappointed that LIP was cancelled! Was and awesome series with an awesome cast. Loved to have seen more of Holly & Giselle – they are awesome actresses. Holly is drop dead gorgeous!
I have totally enjoyed this show. I find that most of the shows on today are absolutely for the simple minded. There is so much trash I seldom watch the much of the national channels. Especially in the summer. Evening shows al full of games and even cartoons. Really? Life In Pieces has relatable to most people.
Yes! This is a great show!! It’s well-written and the cast is fantastic! I wish CBS would rethink this decision. Otherwise, I hope some other network picks it up.
I’m so disappointed one of the few shows I watch is being cancelled. I suppose if the family members screamed at each other or used obscenities they would have been renewed . So sad that that TV executives think they have to keep catering to the lowest common denominator.
so upset you are taking Life in Pieces off. it is so cute and funny. Then they leave trash on like big brothers and starting some love island crap. i do not watch or will i watch either!!!
Really enjoyed Life in Pieces. A very funny and unexpected TV Sitcom. But as usual if it’s partly clean and no vulgar parts it will be cancelled. What a shame.
I loved this series and am very sad that CBS has chosen to cancel it. NO WONDER EVERYONE IS DESERTING NETWORK TV! IT’S’ DISHEARTENING THAT A SERIES SUCH AS THIS ONE IS CANCELLED!
Too Family oriented I guess!! Not enough off color references??
Sickening!!
Sad cancelation . Great fast moving show. Funny , modern take , why?? Hopefully another network will pick this gem up.
Very upset this show is ending…. it is so funny, and we looked forward to it. Nice to have a family show with real family issues… 🙁
I loved Life In Pieces. It made me laugh and the characters are all lovable and we all know someone like them. It’s a REAL SHAME it’s been cancelled.
I definitely would watch a season 5 this show is great! All the characters are great and its just like so many familys out there, that’s its easy to relate too.
I really like the show. Very witty, well written and great ensemble cast. Hope another network picks it up.
I would most definitely have watched another season and more! One of the most clever shows out there right now. I just cannot believe it was canceled. Very upset about this as I know many people I have spoken to are as well.
