Could the BBC be headed back to Mars? Life on Mars co-creator Ashley Pharoah recently spoke to Digital Spy about a possible revival of the BBC One series.
The UK drama followed Sam Tyler (John Simm), a Manchester policeman who is hit by a car in 2006 and wakes up in 1973. The series also starred Philip Glenister and Liz White. A sequel series, Ashes to Ashes, aired from 2008 to 2010.
Pharoah told Digital Spy he always intended three seasons for Life on Mars:
It would be hard, I think, just because the end of Ashes to Ashes sort of does wrap up the whole mythology of Gene Hunt. But we always thought we were going to do three series of Life on Mars – and then it became two.”
He did add that a Christmas special would be nice:
I always wanted to do a Christmas special, with Morecambe and Wise and Mud… so never say never, I suppose.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Life on Mars? Would you like another season or a Christmas special?
