It looks like the story of the Sutton clan has come to an end. ABC Family has quietly decided to cancel Lincoln Heights after four seasons.
Lincoln Heights tells the story of Officer Eddie Sutton (Russell Hornsby) who moves his family back to his old neighborhood. Other castmembers include Erica Hubbard, Nikki Micheaux, Rhyon Brown, Mishon Ratliff, Robert Adamson, and Michael Reilly Burke.
The TV show debuted on January 8, 2007 and the first season was successful enough to warrant a renewal by March. At that point, it was one of the cable channel’s higher performers in the key demographics.
While announcing that the second season would kick off in September 2007, ABC Family President Paul Lee said, “We really think we have something unique here… The fact that it’s an African American family drama alone separates it from the crowd, but its terrific cast and superb writing also make it truly special and perfect for ABC Family.”

Following season two, it took several months for ABC Family to decide to bring Lincoln Heights back for a third round. They finally did and that kicked off in September 2008. The audience grew and the show became the cable channel’s top performer among Females 12-34 and Female teens. It didn’t take as long to renew the series for year four.
Season four kicked off in September 2009. It ended up being one of the channel’s weaker programs of 2009, being outperformed by other ABC Family shows, including cancelled Kyle XY.
No specific reason was given for the Lincoln Heights cancellation. However, though it’s been favored by some critics, the series has never been a big hit for the cable channel and has only been given 10 episode renewals each season.

Man for real this show is great get it back
I loved that show I watched it on Hulu I was able to watch the whole four season right after each other was so mad it’s not coming back it has a lot of meaning & good advice, not like a lot of phoney shows this should of never been cancel they always let the good show go

I literally just finished watching the last episode on Season 4 and I am SO UPSET! I wish the show would have continued! It has such a beautiful message! I love how the family is so close together despite all the challenges they seek. I love this show so much!!!! Why did it have to cancel? PLEASE BRING BACK LINCOLN HEIGHTS!!

I love this show so much! I saw it when it was on air and I just found it on Hulu. I am still so upset it got canceled. It’s such a good show with a real message; not like a lot of the stuff on TV centered solely on petty drama and sex. This had a real depth and it wasn’t cheesy and it wasn’t afraid to show the ugly side of life. The acting was genuine and the writing authentic. Im still upset about this show ending! This was the ONLY show that we loved! You didnt have to worry abt your kids watching it like every show that’s out now. I really pray they bring it back! We need shows like this!
This show shared good family values and with the breakdown of family values in America we need these types of shows to set the example of how families should be a godly example in America.
I stumbled across this show and I love it! I binge watched all the seasons in like a weekend. Please bring it back with the old cast. Its perfect!!! God bless !
I am late to the party as i accidentally stumbled upon the series while using a free trial of HUlu. I was hooked from season one. Great show. So positive and i love that it shows working class African American living and working among a diverse community. It shows how we have more in common and working together we can get things done. No stereotypes, buffoonary or oversexualized imagery. Just good acting and writing. Hate this was how it ended. The fans deserved better. Bring it back please.
Please bring This show back with all the same people. This show has taught me values of family and friends , I love this show I feel empty not knowing what happens do Charles and Cassie get married? Do the go to college? What happens to rest of the family and community.

I just started binge watching. I’m not sure why this show didnt get more marketing, its an awesome show. I really thought it was a poor decision to cancel befor the season was over.
