What’s This TV Show About?
A political drama airing on the CBS television network, Madam Secretary follows the shrewd, determined Elizabeth McCord (Téa Leoni). As U.S. Secretary of State, she battles office politics, while driving international diplomacy and negotiating global deals. She also handles domestic issues — both at the White House and at home. A college professor, Elizabeth was once a CIA analyst, who left her post for ethical reasons. She returned to public life at the request of President Conrad Dalton (Keith Carradine), following the death of her predecessor, Vincent Marsh (Brian Stokes Mitchell). President Dalton values Secretary McCord’s apolitical leanings, knowledge of the Middle East, flair for languages, and unconventional thinking. The cast also includes Tim Daly, Bebe Neuwirth, Željko Ivanek, Sebastian Areclus, Patina Miller, Geoffrey Arend, Erich Bergen, Kathrine Herzer, Wallis Currie-Wood, and Evan Roe.
Season Three Ratings

Telly’s Take
Although Madam Secretary season three routinely draws a sizable audience for CBS, its average in the coveted 18-49 year old demo — which has never been impressive — continues to decline. However, the show’s total viewership is still healthy. I expect CBS will renew Madam Secretary for a fourth season, thereby ensuring it a decent syndication package. Syndication is where the big money is and, after all, television is a business.

It’s been 3+ weeks with out a show that my wife & I make a DATE to WATCH!! Where is it?? I do not know how you get ratings, but we watch all TV over the air/antenna & Madam Secretary is like NCIS a MUST-WATCH. Had to fight to get the original Star Trek rewnewed, Ready to fight to get Madam Secretary renewed…
Just found Madame Secretary on Netflix because of work schedule. Didn’t realize what a great show it was. Now, I pay to watch it on Amazon….Please let there be a Season 4! Absolutely love this show!

I absolutely love Madam Secretary. Ratings may be down but it may be due to the fact that some people lime me find it hard to locate on the channel listing. I hope its kep for a Fourth Season. I can’t wait to see it.
Football gets in the way until the SuperBowl. You can’t even tape it correctly since because of unknown start time. Forced me to break up w The Good Wife also.

I’d like it renewed. I think it’ll be a challenge to have it seem relevant with the current political reality. I’d like to see the writers and cast give it a shot!
Smart and real! This is one of the best family shows and gives a glimpse into the state department. My seventeen year old loves it and kids want to aspire to the characters they watch. We need positive role models and smart entertainment.. PLEASE KEEP THIS SHOW
