The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

Miami Medical (along with Three Rivers) was one of the BEST medical series to come out in a long time. I’ve been eagerly awaiting its return and am very disappointed that it’s canceled!
Why would you cancel this? It was an excellent show! I absolutely loved it and was very disappointed to hear of its cancellation.
Yeah i totally agree… i was just wondering when it would come on again, like it has been awhile, and i searched and found out this terrible news.
from what i can see, from all the comments above, not a single person was ready for it to go, and no one disapproved of it.

Miami medical was great.
NO! Miami Medical was a great show! I watched it every chance I got. Plus recorded every episode when I was gone! No medical shows airing now are anything like Miami Medical! Thanks CBS!
If CBS don’t want the show maybe another network will pick it up it is a good show about medical learnings.
I agree it is a show about medical issues and not a show about who is sleeping with who. You can actually learn about medical emergencies or medical incidents. It was a learning show and it seems that everytime there is a good learn ing show they take it off the air. Please reconsider putting this show back on the air.
So sad when I was checking to see an air date for season two and came across this devastating news. God forbid that they leave a show on that is medical drama with characters that are actually friendly towards each other and not addicted to something or another. (which is the reason I don’t like House) I would gladly switch to another network if someone else would pick it up. So glad I recorded all of season 1 so I can go back and watch them. I can’t understand why you would take off good shows and put on shows that are so freaken stupid. the people who judge these shows wouldn’t know a good show if it came up and bite them in the ass. i see more reality shows on tv more then ever . im sure that people out there like me would like to see more good shows like mercy, trauma, and miami medical. i really do think that you people that work for this network should get your head out of your asses and start leaving good shows on and leave… Read more »

I am 14 and loved this show from the start. I just happened to be flipping through the cahnnels one night when I happened upon the show. I couldn’t believe that I had almost missed it! I have been waiting for the new season to come out. I even checked the cbs website but couldn’t find an air date. I love this show! I can’t belive they’re cacelling it after 1 season and that not a lot of people watch it! this show is amazing and everybody should watch it!
I was so bummed when I heard the show had been canceled. I see terrible shows that obviously get good ratings but don’t deserve to be on the air. I wish the network had given it more time before pulling the plug. I can speak from experience that several shows that I wouldn’t miss now were some of my least favorites when I first started watching them.
My daughter (16) and I really loved Miami Medical. We recorded the episode every week. We loved the characters and the stories, she is going to be so upset that the network canceled the show as am I. cbs you really should give them another chance that is if the actors will have you. I always watch cbs but would switch to another network if someone else would pick it up. I wouldn’t have deleted my recorded episodes had i known you were going to cancel such a great show.
My wife & i really enjoyed Miami Medical we was wondering when the next season was going to start. We really wish CBS would give it another season to see how things go.
