The first installment of the Midnight, Texas TV show aired as an NBC summer TV series. While it didn’t exactly light the Nielsen ratings afire, it did manage to avoid cancellation. Now that the second season is airing during the regular television season, the pressure is on. Can this fantasy-mystery prove itself, or will its Friday night time slot prove the stake in its heart? Will Midnight, Texas be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
Based on the book series of the same name, from True Blood author Charlaine Harris, Midnight, Texas stars François Arnaud, Dylan Bruce, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Arielle Kebbel, Jason Lewis, and Peter Mensah. Guest stars in the second season on NBC include Michael Harney, Mindy Sterling, Adam Langdon, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Jaime Murray, and Nick Lee. The supernatural drama unfolds in the remote Texas town of Midnight, a haven for those hiding out from the world. There, only outsiders belong, while normality is just plain weird. The townies come together to form a sort of chosen family. Together they fend off external pressures from nosy police officers, vicious biker gangs, and their own dark pasts.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
12/29 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Midnight, Texas averaged a meager 0.74 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.99 million viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.

I love Midnight, Texas! I read all three books and like all the actors. It is a strange but fun show that keeps you coming back for more. Please don’t cancel! Don’t leave us hanging by just endind the series – where is the happy ending – season 3. 🙂
Yep, yet another show that i love, getting canned. They need to start doing tv seasons, like they did back in the 80’s & early 90’s.
Please dont end midnight its one of my favorites and i love all the characters

I love Midnight Texas! My favorite show!
We waded through the first season, the second season is worse. We will not DVR any more. Made it to the episode where Rev leaves. Don’t care anymore if the town gets nuked.
Couldn’t agree more with RWD. Linnie sounds like a die hard Francois Arnaud fan to me since she’s ignoring the other cast member’s names, who by the way are just as awesome.
The show is truly delightful The new Texan girl is a great add on. Hope this stays on 15 seasons the way Supernatural did.
Really happy NBC gave them the green light for season 2 with a new showrunner. This is the direction it needed!
The series are trash. The script is predictable and this follow the path of iconic series like Chronicles Vampires or a lot of news coming with the endless world of witches, vampires, and cheap dark atmospheres. The actors just give the worst of themselves in those lineal characters. Any couple has chemistry. Francois Arnaud is wasting his time and good acting here with the great work he has done in the Borgias. A good Cancellation is the beat that this series could get. Stop with those actresses full of sylicon and zero talent.
Midnight, Texas is a creative, entertaining series with great characters and unique stories. Episode 1 of Season 2 was a great start to a hopefully full season of shows! I had been anticipating the new season and was not disappointed. In fact, it started out with a bang! Loved it!! I can’t wait to watch what happens next. Highly recommended viewing!!
