TV show description:
This crime drama has a unique twist in that it doesn’t focus on who committed a crime, but why the crime was committed in the first place. As the mystery unfolds, winding between revealing flashbacks and present time, viewers navigate the twisted and complicated maze of each murder, solving the puzzle alongside the detectives, piecing together more of the mysterious connections that drove the killer to commit murder.
When a murder is committed, Detectives Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira) are on the case, looking for clues that will lead them to the killer.
Sexy and feisty, Angie is a thirty-something single mom from the wrong side of the tracks who proves that appearances can be deceiving. Oscar is intelligent, thoughtful, methodical and confident. He comes from a wealthy family and turned his back on an expensive Harvard Divinity School education to join the police force (a change of heart from his initial choice of joining the priesthood).
Others on the homicide team are: Doctor Betty Rogers (Lauren Holly), a medical examiner with a quirky sense of humor that belies the grimness of her daily job. Staff Sergeant Boyd Bloom (Roger Cross), the Squad Room Supervisor who was sidelined from the streets a few years earlier by a bullet. Detective Brian Lucas (Brendan Penny), a young eager beaver detective and newlywed who’s eager to learn and is fascinated about the often grisly procedures.
Angie doesn’t suffer fools or authority figures lightly. At home, Angie only wants the best for her teenage son, Manny (Cameron Bright), who is one of the few things in life that she feels she did right. But as far as Manny’s concerned, being the son of a cop is not the easiest gig in the world.

What do you think? Do you like the Motive TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?
I totally love the angle this show takes rather than the same old way ALL the other detective shows are. It is very creative and I hope it does not get cancelled.
I do have to say that the heavy makeup on Angie and Dr. Rogers is quite distracting. Angie looks like the Joker from the Batman movie sometimes.
I love the show. I would consider it a class act. And if anyone cancels it I will break their arm. Or kneecaps as in mafia style. My point is that figuring out the motive makes you think. I really appreciate the different tac

I can’t get past the heavy makeup on the two leading ladies. Less is best!!! Makes them look hard. Why does the make-up artist (who is probably is his/her 20’s) get this so wrong! They are very attractive ladies and should be proud of how they look at their ages, without plastering make-up on them to look like characters from “Whatever happened to Baby Jane”?
What’s with the heavy, nighttime makeup on the two leading ladies? Can’t ladies grow old gracefully, instead of making them look like “Whatever Happened To Baby Jane”? Less is best….
The music it toooo loud. When the suspense builds, the music just gets louder. We cannot comprehend the script due to the loud music!
I like the show and hope it doesn’t get canceled. One thing I don’t like is the background music is too loud.
quirky show, very different from the usual detective shows that all seem alike. Keeps you guessing until that very end. End tho you know who did it, you still can,t believe it.
I like the show sure hope it does not get cancelled. I always have captions because some time words are being said that you would not hear otherwise. Keep show on.
I love the show I hope they don’t cancel it
Good show and good cast of characters!!! Hope it is not cancelled. Agree that sometimes the music overpowers the conversations — that is true of shows other than this one as well.
One of the few new shows that should be left on the schedule. I have never in my life seen such horrible TV shows and then the ones that are decent and don’t have to be a mental midget to watch they want to cancel!!
YESSSSS, I LOVE THAT SHOW! I have it TiVo and it only showed one episode what happened?
My wife and I really like the show. We disagree over the relationship between Boyd and Angie. I think that he is portrayed as the antagonists, likes her and wants to continue the relationship. My wife thinks that Angie is the one that wants to continue the relationship and thinks that she gives him a hard time??
We would appreciate other thoughts on his matter.
I like the show – it should not be cancelled!
I tried to watch this show but like so many others (actually worse) it is difficult to hear the dialog between the actors and understand the plot and story when the background noise and music overpowers the actor conversations. If the sound engineers cannot get this right, the show should be cancelled and probably will be because viewers like me will become frustrated and lose interest. I should qualify that I have no hearing problems.
I have only watched a couplt of times but loved the show so glad to know it hasn’t been cancelled.
