Is the end near for Mr. Robot? The series’ creator, Sam Esmail, recently spoke with Variety about season two and the future of the USA Network TV show.
Mr. Robot stars Christian Slater and Rami Malek as members of an underground hacking group. Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, and Martin Wallström also star.
In the interview, Esmail revealed some details about season two, saying he will be directing all 10 episodes of the upcoming season:
The first season’s critical acclaim and the response gave us a lot of confidence, but it’s almost like the pressure kind of cancels it out. I’m back to square one, which is exactly where I think we should be in terms of approaching the story for the second season.”
He also mentioned that from the beginning, he’s had at most five seasons planned for the drama:
USA is very supportive of the fact that I know how to end it, and we’re going to end it when it’s right.”
Season two of Mr. Robot is currently shooting. It’s expected to premiere this summer.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Mr. Robot? What do you hope happens in season two?
I hope USA Network will re-air Season 1 before Season 2 starts.
I hope USA Network will re-air Season 1 in its entirety before Season 2 starts this summer.
I disagree with BlueNote, I like when a series has a clear cut end, because more times than not it makes it better think Breaking Bad. This is what made Lost, Dexter and definitely Supernatural quality degrade over time. So far IMO this show and everybody on team has done everything right. I’ll be keeping an out on the people who worked on this show.
I love this show and was very encouraged/thrilled that it won awards. But if you are going to end it this soon. I don’t think I will invest any more time in it.
how is five seasons ‘soon’ when there’s only been 1 season so far…?
