Nashville will air an all-new episode on ABC later tonight, but fans know the end is near. The network cancelled the series last week, but there is still hope. With the people behind the series actively looking for a new home, it is possible that the series could return for a fifth season.
However, Connie Britton has already shared a message with her fans about the cancellation of the series on social media. She shared the following message after the news broke, according to TV Line:
“To the amazing friends and family who are Nashville, to the cast and crew, and most of all to the fans…I’d just like to say it’s been my honor to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it. Sometimes we were more successful than others. But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show. And I am forever changed for the better. Thanks for the music.”
According to TV Guide, the actress also spoke about the cancellation of the series on a talk show appearance earlier this week. Nashville has been a big part of her life. She has raised her adopted son there since 2011. She said the following:
“I’ll talk to my Nashville friends, and they’re all devastated. It’s a real bummer also for the town too. I’m going to miss those people so much. I’m so upset, then I talk to my friends in L.A., and they’re like, ‘We’re so happy you’re coming home.’ So I’m just like, I don’t know what I feel! [My son is] 5, and we’ve been doing the show there for four years, so it’s a big deal. It’s over. The end of an era. I think he’s going to just ditch me now because he’s like, ‘I’m staying in Nashville now. These people are cool. I’m learning how to play the drums. See you later.'”

This is one of the few series that I look forward to every week. One my whole family can enjoy and relate to. To express my disappointment is an understatement. This show is just getting back to some very good storylines, how can you just pull the plug with so much still to work with that will just be left hanging?? This is not good business sense for ABC…. Please make it a summer series or find another home. This show is amazing! The music is amazing and even has concerts to bring in revenue. I love this show and everything it stands for. Stop canceling the best shows! Annoying!

Just found out its been cancelled. Very sad….one of only a few shows that never stays in my dvr for long. Bring it back. I love this show!
Nashville is a great show and I hate to see it cancelled!! It is one of the few shows I watch. I would rather see Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy cancelled. Scandal has crossed the line in so many ways and Grey’s has been on long enough. I lost interest a few years ago.

I’ve lived in and around Nashville TN for over 40 years, and I’ve been avidly watching the series Nashville. It’s a great show with characters that the fans can and have become invested in. I truly hope that the show comes back. As much as I enjoy ABC, I’m disheartened that they are cancelling another of my favorite shows.

I’m terribly upset, as are my friends, that Nashville is being cancelled. The beautiful songs and pairings could not be better. Unlike other shows, new country artists have been introduced with beautiful music that actually fit the situations. With the exception of one actress, the acting has been spectacular. Chip Esteen appears to be a natural no matter where his role takes him. His facial expressions and acting ability never ceases to amaze me as I feel his character is portrayed perfectly.
