Though it hasn’t been a ratings success, ABC has kept Nashville on the air. Will the numbers continue to fall this season? Is there a chance that it could be cancelled or is it essentially guaranteed to be renewed for a fourth season (because of potential syndication profits)? We’ll have to wait and see.
The Nashville TV show continues to follow the lives and careers of country music superstars Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) and Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton). The rest of the cast includes Clare Bowen, Eric Close, Charles Esten, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Chris Carmack, Lennon Stella, Maisy Stella, Will Chase, and Oliver Hudson.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: ABC has renewed Nashville for a fourth season.
Final season averages: 1.34 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.16 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The second season of Nashville averaged a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.34 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Nashville TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fourth season?
I am a 51 year old male and I love this show! Please do not cancel it. If the ratings are down it is probably due to the fact that you are implementing too many gay scenes that believe it or not, the majority of Americans do not care to see. This show is awesome and has a great mix of talented actors and actresses not to mention they are all talented musicians. It would be a big mistake to cancel this show in my opinion.
Too many?? How is that too many. And speak for yourself only next time.
Believe it or not, you don’t get to speak for everyone, or decide what Americans care to see.
I beg you – PLEASE do not cancel this program!!! We don’t ever miss it!! Why would we – it has everything – great singing (w/wonderful harmonies), drama, comedy, interesting storylines, great musicians, ete., etc.!! We look forward to watching it every week!! Please don’t break our hearts!!
Are the networks taking in to account those of us that watch this show online? A lot of people have ditched traditional cable/DVR service & watch TV solely online. It doesn’t appear that those numbers are being considered in the ratings, which is probably why really great shows keep getting cancelled. Wake up networks & count all your fans from all sources & not just cable users!
It would be terrible if Nashville was canceled.
best show on tv
Please, please, please do not end this show! My husband and I love it and think that their music is great! We particularly love the duets with Deacon & Rayna and with Gunnar & Scarlett. Letting in some star power has added some depth & dimension, particularly the Opry night. We just wonder why Rayna does not sing at those concerts!
At least, if you have to close it out, by all means, tie together some loose ends and let Teddy’s problem become more a part of the plot. Let it end, if it must, on a happy note!
I watch Nasvhille every week, but I’m unable to live since I’m working. I usually always watch it by the end of the weekend though. Do those numbers count in the ratings or are the ratings only live watching ratings?
Please keep Nashville on the air. I watch every week and love it. There is a great storyline and the acting and singing is excellent. ABC has cancelled more than their share of tv shows and I get upset every time I see another good one go down the tubes. PLEASE KEEP THIS ON THE AIR!!!!
I live in Canada and have just discovered NASHVILLE on Netflix. I LOVE IT!!!!! if ABC doesn’t renew the series than maybe Netflix WILL! please its hard to find a good series with great talent. The music and musicians are all amazing. I am not a huge fan of reality shows and this gives people like me an option. Thank you Luci
I love Nashville and never miss an episode. It is one of the best shows on the air and should definitely be renewed.
I’ve been a dedicated fan of “Nashville” since episode 1 several years ago. I’ve seen every episode, & make sure to record it in case I fall asleep! Being a native of Nashville, & living in the Nashville area, this show seems like home to me! The music is fantastic, & the actors are exceptional! This is absolutely my favorite TV show, & I look forward to Wednesday nights because of it. Please, please, please keep this awesome show on the air!!!
Please do not cancel this show !!! I don’t miss an episode and DVR it as well in order to play it through again and listen to the musical performances!!!
GARBAGE!!!!!
PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW! MY HUSBAND AND I LOVE IT.
LIKE JILL SAID(ABOVE) YOU NEED TO CHECK ALL THE WAYS PEOPLE ARE
WATCHING THIS SHOW…..NOT JUST WHEN IT AIRS.
I watch this show on jetflicks. I am a busy mother of 7 and don’t always have time to watch shows when They air. I think a lot of good shows are getting cancelled these days, due to busy lifestyles and alternative methods of watching television. Many people either choose to go with a cheaper alternative to cable or dish by using Netflix, jetflicks, hulu, etc. I think you may want to start checking how many times a show is viewed using the other options out there.
Please renew Nashville, I love this show!!!!
I will be so bummed if this show is cancelled.
