Though it hasn’t been a ratings success, ABC has kept Nashville on the air. Will the numbers continue to fall this season? Is there a chance that it could be cancelled or is it essentially guaranteed to be renewed for a fourth season (because of potential syndication profits)? We’ll have to wait and see.
The Nashville TV show continues to follow the lives and careers of country music superstars Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) and Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton). The rest of the cast includes Clare Bowen, Eric Close, Charles Esten, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Chris Carmack, Lennon Stella, Maisy Stella, Will Chase, and Oliver Hudson.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: ABC has renewed Nashville for a fourth season.
Final season averages: 1.34 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.16 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The second season of Nashville averaged a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.34 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Nashville TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fourth season?
I LOVE THIS SHOW!! Deacon is SO HOT!! I love him! Rayna has a great talent. Juliette is such a pain in the ass, but obviously a good actress, hopefully. 🙂 This is a great show and I am glad it is going to continue. 🙂

Don’t cancel Nashville. My favorite show!
BEST SHOW. I am not hooked on any TV show except for Nashville. Please don’t cancel!
I absolutely love this show… the acting and singing is excellent… story lines are true to life. If anyone feels it hits too close to home, please change channels. But DO NOT CANCEL NASHVILLE…
I was so bummed after last show, thinking that Deacon didn’t make it, but I think the bad news doc is bringing is that his sister died, and Deacon is going to make it…Yeah…
I think all the true Nashville lovers came to the same conclusion. Deacon will make it.
I will be waiting for fall to get here.
Love this show. I really wish they would promote it more. We see teasers for scandal and all the others. Also, do they really take into account people who don’t watch it live, traditional way? Weds here is a big church and ballgame nite, so many of us catch it within the week via local cable provider’s prime time video on demand feature
Starting to weed out fringe characters and focus on better character development. This is “my show” and I’d love to see it run as long as greys!
Nashville is the best show on tv … it’s like a family drama – with all the ups and downs of real life – combined with bada$$ country concerts. Please keep this show on the air forever! It never gets old, never gets stale … always entertaining.
Nashville is my favorite TV show!!! Please keep renewing it!!! And please don’t let Deacon die!!!
Love nashville
I would love to see the show return its got great music and great people
after last nights show they said Nashville will return in the fall>
lets hope it will. such a shame to cancel a show like this
My wife and I just watched the season finale of Nashville. It has been close to life for us. Like Deacon, my wife is battling cancer. The difference – my wife’s battle for her life is real. Imagine how we felt when either Deacon or his sister died on the operating table. After the show I overheard my wife crying in the bathtub. It broke my heart. Much worse, the show freaked out my wife. When a person is battling a life threatening disease, sometimes their frame of mind makes the difference between life and death. The writers need to… Read more »
Not to take away from what you and your wife are going through, but the show is based on real life. It’s a real life struggle. They write this to illicit feelings. They can’t write real life situations hoping no one is going through it. Again, I’m sorry for your situation but if they take everything out to be sensitive then there would be no drama.
