What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the CBS television network, NCIS: Los Angeles features the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Office of Special Projects (OSP). The chameleon-like Special Agent “G” Callen (Chris O’Donnell) can transform into anyone, in order to infiltrate the criminal underworld. He partners with Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL Cool J). A former U.S. Navy SEAL, Hanna has seen action in both Afghanistan and Iraq. The seemingly omniscient Henrietta “Hetty” Lange (Linda Hunt) oversees the staff. She provides the team with everything from micro-surveillance cameras to cars. The cast also includes Daniela Ruah, Eric Christian Olsen, Barrett Foa, Renée Felice Smith, and Miguel Ferrer (who passed away during the season).

Telly’s Take
Despite some significant off-screen changes and being moved to Sunday nights, NCIS: Los Angeles is still going strong in its eighth season. Last year, in season seven, NCIS: Los Angeles was down by nearly 18% in the demo and 7% in terms of total audience size. Although it hasn’t yet completely recovered its loss in the demo, the show has more than made up for it, in terms of total viewers. While Sundays can be tricky, because start times are often delayed by football overruns, NCIS: Los Angeles has made the most of the scheduling change. As long as the actors and producers are willing to continue and can agree on contract issues, I am confident CBS will renew NCIS: Los Angeles for a ninth season.
3/23 update: CBS has renewed this show.

What do you think? Are you glad that the NCIS: Los Angeles TV show has been renewed for a ninth season? How would you have been disappointed if CBS had cancelled this series, instead?
It’s getting a little confusing and I believe it is confusing for the writers as well. I don’t believe they have a clear path as where to go. I still watch it but sometimes I cringe or get confused.
Last episode opens a lot of different directions for writers to take the crew.
With ratings like they are stacking up, even CBS would be insane to cancel.
Wish they were not on Sunday night. Football screws everything up. Please move it to a good time AND LEAVE IT THERE. LOVE NCIS: LOS ANGLES.
Please, please don’t cancel NCIS LA. It is my favourite show on any channel. I look forward every week to watching it Sunday night.
Please renew ncis Los Angeles it’s a great series
I hope it is renewed and even more I hope it gets moved to a better time slot. Following sports is a bad slot as the games always run long delaying the start of ncis la and probably making many viewers miss the show which hurts the shows rating. It is not fair for any show to repeatedly have delayed starts. Many viewers probably stopped viewing. CBS is losing a great group of viewers
Agree
I am really hoping for season 9. I have found the football interference frustrating. I think that the show deserves a better time slot. I don’t think the show deserves to be set up for failure. Our love the show, the storey line, the relationships within their family. Please keep it going! Good work.
I really hope there will be a next season. If it is cancel I will scream, NCIS Los Angeles is an amazing show.
I don’t want them to cancel NCIS Los Angeles. I’m really sick of these channels cancelling good show to put stupid reality shows on.
