For its first two seasons, NCIS: New Orleans has had the security of airing directly out of flagship NCIS, CBS‘ most watched series. Now, the network is moving the series to 10pm, a timeslot with fewer viewers. Will this move negatively impact the ratings or, could they grow? Could it be cancelled or is it essentially guaranteed to be renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned.
NCIS: New Orleans revolves around the local field office in New Orleans, investigating criminal cases that affect military personnel. Special Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) leads the team. The rest of the cast includes CCH Pounder, Daryl Chill Mitchell, Lucas Black, Rob Kerkovich, Shalita Grant, and Vanessa Ferlito.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/23 update: CBS has renewed NCIS: New Orleans for a fourth season for 2017-18. Details here.
5/17 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The second season of NCIS: New Orleans averaged a 1.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 12.98 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the NCIS: New Orleans TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
Please do not cancel love all of the NCIS shows there good thing on tv to watch. PLEASE PLEASE do not canel NCIS NEW ORLEANS THANK YOU YOUR FAITHFUL WATCHER
Think the show should go on it’s not the shows fault that CBS moved it to 10 o’clock at night changing the time that the show comes on so a lot of people have to record it and I think the rating are going to drop because of that to !
Please DONT cancel THIS SHOW. IM 52 AND HAVE NOT MISSED 1episode. PLEASE KEEP IT ON THE AIR…………..
Once Shalita Grant joined the team!
I stopped watching, she just did not fit that much role.
Drop Shalita and Vanessa, return Mary and I will return to watching the show. Those two actresses ruin all chemistry with the cast.
I have watched my last episode of NCIS New Orleans do not like Vanessa Ferlito she just doesn’t fit with the rest of the characters and now she is on permanent so sad liked the program but can’t stand Vanessa
Please do not cancel the show. The cast is good this season and Gregario is a good addition to the show.
Please do not cancel this show. I like the show and the cast from this season. Brody was good but but the whole show. I like Gregario.
The episodes are getting so cheesy I can hardly set through one….Country Mouse…City Mouse… come on!
This show has the worse casting director there is they need new people fast or it will get cancelled. They lost one of their best characters the two new one’s are bombs ! Don’t hate me the ratings speak for themselves I could name three female actors and male actors who could make this show a hit. The current cast sucks look at NCIS LA they added Deeks and then they stop having it be about just LL cool J and Chris and used Kensey and Deeks. That was the formula to the original NCIS everybody had a favorite Abby… Read more »
The new character “Vanessa Ferlito” ruins the entire chemistry of the show. I think that is blatantly obvious to everyone; please write her off or you will continue to see your ratings slide. I for one will not watch going forward if she is still on the show next season.
I completely agree with this. She so overacts every character she’s ever played and her duck lips are gross. I love the rest of the cast.
Brody needs to come back. The new FBI character needs to go. This was my favorite show, but the changes are making it hard to watch.
Really like the show and hope it will continue. Makes me miss New Orleans even more every time I watch it. Not a huge fan of Ferlito, though.
Some of the characters on the show are not well suited for the role. Brody was perfect and Chris is OK. I really like the M.E. The African American actress is definitely not believeable as her stature is way too short and she always overacts. What is needed is a strong woman with military background. Gregorio also was not believeable as an FBI agent. They tried to make her a glamour girl with all that pouffy hair. In essence there’s really no chemistry among the characters as a cohesive team. I do like the New Orleans backgrounds and the music… Read more »
The story lines are getting better and better. I like it more now than I did when it first aired. I’d love for it to continue.
I agree and love the show is am so ready for the next season.
Shalita Grant was bad enough, but Vanssa Ferlito was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I no longer watch the show.
Totally agree Frank. Grant and Ferlito don’t seem to have any acting ability what so ever and certainly don’t produce any positive on-screen presence.
