New people are coming to Freeform. Deadline reports the network is developing a transgender family drama titled New People.

The series comes from writer-director Don Roos.

Inspired by Amy Ellis Nutt’s non-fiction book Becoming Nicole: The Transformation of an American Family, the story will follow the journey of a transgender girl and her family.

New People is being produced by Silver Pictures and Lionsgate Television.
