Is there a chance for a second season of The Night Of? Recently, star Michael K. Williams spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the future of the HBO TV series.
Season one of the crime drama explored the intricate proceedings behind a murder case in New York City. The cast included Riz Ahmed, John Turturro, Afton Williamson, Amara Karan, Ashley Thomas, Ben Shenkman, Bill Camp, Chip Zien, Glenn Fleshler, and Glenne Headly.
In the interview, Williams said HBO would be “stupid” not to want a season two:
HBO would be deaf, dumb, and stupid to not want to do another season of this. However, from what I gather from [creators] Richard Price and Steven Zaillian, there is no amount of money that you can just throw at them to piece together a shabby excuse for a season 2 of what we created. If it didn’t fit, it ain’t happening.”
Earlier, HBO chief Casey Bloys said the network is interested in a second season, but the creators are still thinking of ideas.
What do you think? Did you watch season one of The Night Of? Do you watch a second season?
IT was fantastic, but aren’t all HBO mini series. Westworld, True Detective …
I really hope they don’t… ‘The Night Of’ was a rare incredible remake… That first episode was one of the best of 2016. The ending, however, was extremely shaky. Best to leave well enough alone than milk something for all its worth.
