The CW has renewed The Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals for a fourth season. During its third season, The Originals and its sister-series were moved to Friday nights, which fans feared might telegraph that the shows would be cancelled. In January, during the TCA Winter press tour, CW President, Mark Pedowitz said, “The move is not to exile [the shows]. It’s a move to strengthen Friday night.”
The cast of The Originals includes: Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Danielle Campbell, and Leah Pipes. Claire Holt, who was in the main cast during the first season, has appeared as a special guest star in seasons two and three.
The renewal was one of 11 early pickups announced by The CW, today. The network renewed its entire slate. The full list of CW TV series renewed today are: Arrow, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, iZombie, Jane The Virgin, The Originals, Reign, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, and The 100.

So glad the originals has been renewed. Storylines much better that VD and more gripping.
I love the Originals and for the last season and a half have actually thought they had stronger story lines than the VD. Thank goodness it is being renewed for 2016/17. The episode where Camille dies was an especially strong and emotional one. Keep up the good work.

The Originals is my favorite TV show, Myself and my girl friends get together for what we call vampire night, we all love it and are hoping for the season to still be on. We also watch Vampire Diaries, we have so much fun on vampire night please don’t ever let them end.
The original is my favorite tv show, I want more season like the vampire diaries. Never removed.

This show The Originals is filmed in the town I live, about 3 miles from my home in Conyers Georgia. I think it’s COOL! !!

The Originals is my favorite show on tv, so glad to hear that it will be back for a 4th season. Hopefully many many more. When will the new season start airing?

Woooo!! I thought the CW execs had gone insane. I just read the update. I am soooo thrilled to read my favorite shows have been renewed, especially The Originals!!
So happy TO was not cancelled….have watched both TVD & TO from 1st show…love them both…..but TO is amazing & exciting and I can not wait for the next one….in fact…I hate when it goes off for the summer. Don’t ever cancel TO….and I look forward to many years of watching these favorite shows of mine….
ps…hated you killed Cami…loved her & Klaus…she kept Klaus grounded …don’t kill any of the others…love them all…..
