TV show description:
This drama series is set in the rugged hills of Appalachia and follows the Farrell clan. They are a tight-knit family of renegades who have lived atop Shay Mountain for over two hundred years.
The Farrells live off the grid and above the law, enforcing their own set of long-held values and beliefs. They are governed by a simple but powerful tribal authority led by a Bren’in, or ruler, and a small council of elders.
Notoriously secretive and unforgiving when crossed, the Farrells find themselves in conflict with the residents of the nearest town nestled at the foot of Shay Mountain. These locals — and all others outside the tribe — embody greed, malice and all forms of corruption that must be avoided at any cost. Direct contact with the ‘Losties’ (as named by the Farrells) is strictly forbidden.
For the last 20 years, an uneasy truce has generally presided between the ‘Losties’ and the family tribe of Shay Mountain — until Big Coal enters the arena. Never ones to back down from a fight, the Farrells will ultimately defend their way of life using any available means.
Characters include: Big Foster (David Morse), the gruff and powerful heir to tribe leadership. His son is Lil Foster (Ryan Hurst), a massive mountain man.
Young and intuitive Hasil (Kyle Gallner) feels rejected by the group. Lady Ray (Phyllis Somerville), the regal yet tough leader of the Farrell clan.
Asa (Joe Anderson) is a former member of the Farrell clan looking to rejoin the family after a 10-year stint with the outside world. Asa’s trusted confidante is G’Winveer (Gillian Alexy), a healer and a survivor.
Beautiful and young, Sally-Ann (Christina Jackson) is from a mining town and she’s fascinated by the Farrells (Hasil, in particular).
Haylie (Francie Swift) is a clever and cunning all-American community relations manager who represents the encroaching coal company.
Sheriff Wade Houghton (Thomas M. Wright) is a cop who has a rough and mysterious history with the Farrells, and grapples with several personal troubles of his own.

What do you think? Do you like the Outsiders TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Please don’t cancel the Outsiders!!! It is a different and interesting show! It always amazes me that I usually learn something from each episode. It makes your mind work figuring out the different ways of life and also trying to figure out what is going to happen next! Please don’t leave us hanging at the end of Season 2!!! My husband and I both love this show!
Please renew the OUTSIDERS! We Hate to see it cancelled as we look forward to each weekly episode!
pleas leave the outsider on. my husband & I love the show. if the move to another station most likely we will not see it. please renew OUTSIDERS.
Please renew, have been a follower since the first show aired. Better than most shows out there.
It’s really sad that WGN America is not going to continue with the “Outsiders” series. Don’t know why or how come a hit series like Outsiders is cancelled after two successful seasons. This show/series (Outsiders) is the reason why I started watching the WGN America network. please continue the Outsiders series. Don’t stop a successful series. Keep Outsiders going. I always watch the back to back (encore) episode every Tuesday night (3 hours on WGN America. No other show on WGN America will motivate me to do that.
I love this show. Please keep it on. I also will follow it to another channel. I am also from Kentucky and I love to watch it. Was really bummed when I heard they were thinking about cancelling it.
Outsiders is a great show, one of the best currently on TV. Please do not cancel it, it is a much better show than Underground
I absolutely LOVE this show. Finally, there’s a great drama on tv that’s not a reality show and this is what happens! I look forward to this every week, why do they cancel the good shows? Everyone I know loves it also. PLEASE KEEP OUTSIDERS!! I need, at the very least, a couple more seasons!
I Love the Outsiders. Please give us another season.
Very disappointed! Good show.
Once again a good show is looking at being canceled. Why is sex, shootings, drugs, dirty cops and dirty lawyers all we get? Sci Fy is about the only thing left. I love this show it deals with real people and real issues. Not like all the rest I mentioned are not real but, that’s the problem. We see it every night on the news. We want shows that have heart, right from wrong, families but I am not sure that it is possible. You need to advertise this show more often so people are aware of it. Please give… Read more »
Very sad to see this show cancelled. I am loosing faith in the TV industry. Its bad enough a TV series is no longer Sept. to May. We are forced into 13 weeks but aside from that you get into a series and can’t wait for Tue nights to watch it and now there are story lines that you will never know!!! Don’t these executives consider what the viewing public want or think? I really hope some other network picks Outsiders up!! Please listen to us, we love Outsiders!!! I will never watch WGN again and Outsiders was the only… Read more »
I love Outsiders. I think it should be renewed for another season. I look forward to Tuesday nights. If they cancel it I will be leery of starting on another WGN series. Follow through. Always follow through.
I do not think Outsiders should be cancelled. It is one of my favorite shows.
Why should we ever watch a WGN series again, if their not going to finish a a story line/series. They killed the series when they killed of Asa in the show. What idiot writer kills off the main character you starter the show with in the first season?
We really enjoyed it…..never missed an episode…..hate to see it cancelled.
