TV show description:
This drama series is set in the rugged hills of Appalachia and follows the Farrell clan. They are a tight-knit family of renegades who have lived atop Shay Mountain for over two hundred years.
The Farrells live off the grid and above the law, enforcing their own set of long-held values and beliefs. They are governed by a simple but powerful tribal authority led by a Bren’in, or ruler, and a small council of elders.
Notoriously secretive and unforgiving when crossed, the Farrells find themselves in conflict with the residents of the nearest town nestled at the foot of Shay Mountain. These locals — and all others outside the tribe — embody greed, malice and all forms of corruption that must be avoided at any cost. Direct contact with the ‘Losties’ (as named by the Farrells) is strictly forbidden.
For the last 20 years, an uneasy truce has generally presided between the ‘Losties’ and the family tribe of Shay Mountain — until Big Coal enters the arena. Never ones to back down from a fight, the Farrells will ultimately defend their way of life using any available means.
Characters include: Big Foster (David Morse), the gruff and powerful heir to tribe leadership. His son is Lil Foster (Ryan Hurst), a massive mountain man.
Young and intuitive Hasil (Kyle Gallner) feels rejected by the group. Lady Ray (Phyllis Somerville), the regal yet tough leader of the Farrell clan.
Asa (Joe Anderson) is a former member of the Farrell clan looking to rejoin the family after a 10-year stint with the outside world. Asa’s trusted confidante is G’Winveer (Gillian Alexy), a healer and a survivor.
Beautiful and young, Sally-Ann (Christina Jackson) is from a mining town and she’s fascinated by the Farrells (Hasil, in particular).
Haylie (Francie Swift) is a clever and cunning all-American community relations manager who represents the encroaching coal company.
Sheriff Wade Houghton (Thomas M. Wright) is a cop who has a rough and mysterious history with the Farrells, and grapples with several personal troubles of his own.

What do you think? Do you like the Outsiders TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Why would you cancel the outsiders without adding a final show/ episode that just leaves the audience, myself disappointed and Leary of watching any other shows that would result in the same ending. To the curtesy of your fans and honestly the ethical obligation to yourself. When you start something finish it! I was raised to finish what you start. I am very disappointed to learn I’ve watched this show eagerly and with much anticipation for the next episode and to leave it unfinished without a final episode is like a child reading the best book and ripping it from… Read more »
I really want a season three of outsiders it is a really good show
I think the outsiders should come back on. Perhaps another network can revive it. I loved all the characters and story! Please bing it back!!
This show was great you make me sick how you just cut and left folks hanging
I love this show!! This show has so many storylines to keep it new and interesting for more than several seasons to come!! I’d watch every episode if they ever brought it back!
Bring the Outsiders back. This was a good TV show and definitely shouldn’t have been canceled. Come on man!
This show needs to come back. There is so much more to cancel instead of cancelling a good show like this. Wish I knew who decides because they were dead wrong on this one.
I saw this show come up in my “referred for you” list on Hulu, I loved this show. I’ve binged it, and got my friends watching it. I have been thinking about the unborn babies, the murder of the coal lady, the emails in the mail to the sherrif, and the BROKEN OAK!!! How can they just cancel a show with such huge cliff hangers? I would easily watch 10 more seasons… Or at least wrap up what they already have going on. Please bring a final season.
Outsiders was a great show.. Just as it gets stated it gets cancelled. I hope what I have been reading about WGN is bring it back.
It should have had a chance. At least given it enough episodes to have closure to the show, no matter how short it was.
Shame on WGN for not finishing it properly. Makes me not want to watch shows on that channel, they may not let the story finish. Way too much left undone in this series and it was the best thing on tv!
A good show, it should return
Shame on y’all a good show. Should at least run a special to finish this show.
We’ve been re-watching Outsiders from our DVD. You should have continued this show!! What greedy idiots you CEO’s are.
