Though it’s been in danger of being cancelled each year, Parenthood has survived for five seasons. Will it see a sixth year or will this be the end? We’ll have a better idea as the weeks progress.
Airing on NBC since 2010, Parenthood revolves around the lives of the extended Braverman family in Northern California. The ensemble cast includes Lauren Graham, Dax Shepard, Tyree Brown, Joy Bryant, Max Burkholder, Erika Christensen, Miles Heizer, Sam Jaeger, Monica Potter, Savannah Paige Rae, Xolo Mariduena, Mae Whitman, with Bonnie Bedelia and Craig T. Nelson.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/11 update: Parenthood has been renewed for a sixth and final season of 13 episodes.
Final season averages: 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.98 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
For comparisons: The fourth season of Parks and Recreation averaged a 1.8 rating in the demo and 4.98 million viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Parenthood TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a sixth season?
If this show goes off the air, I am BOYCOTTING this network in my home. Guaranteed.
Keep it! This show is amazing!
Keep it!
First seasons were great. Lauren Graham is beyond annoying at this point. Enough is enough. Time to move on NBC. No more.
Keep on PLEASE!!!!!
Keep it on!
This is true family orented show and I have watched each episode. I look forward to watch every Thursday and I wouldn’t have any show to look forward to. I hope it get renew because my friends and I have learned a lot from it.
This is one of two shows that I never miss. Truly the best television has to offer. Hopefully the network will see that this is the type of television that people like and enjoy rather than the “reality” drivel that is being promoted.
I love Parenthood. I have watched it from the beginning and just gets better and better. NBC please keep this very important show going!!!
This show definitely should be renewed. Great cast. Easy to watch. A weekly treat.
RENEW OR I WILL MOST DEFINEITELY CRY (ps i have the same name as one of the characters)
Wake up, NBC, and recognize the amazing collection of talent in this series. The casting, writing and acting talents are phenomenal. It’s one of the very few commercial tv shows I can’t wait to watch each week. Give us a sixth season, please!
Absolutely it should be renewed. Best show on television.
There are very few, if any, shows on any of the major networks that display the values and dynamics of true family life. I have been a fan of Parenthood since the very beginning. I look forward the Thursday evenings, perhaps the only time I don’t watch non-commercial t.v. If Parenthood is cancelled, I’m done with regular prime-time t.v. Wake up NBC execs, this is one show you don’t want to mess with.
If this show is cancelled, I’m turning off the TV (except for sports). This show is quality in every aspect. Puleeze do not cancel!
