Streaming on the Amazon Prime Video paid subscription platform, Patriot stars Michael Dorman, Michael Chernus, Terry O’Quinn, Kathleen Munroe, Kurtwood Smith, Aliette Opheim, Chris Conrad, Julian Richings, Gil Bellows, and Marcus Toji.
This political thriller follows intelligence officer John Tavner (Dorman). With only his unsafe “non-official cover” as a mid-level employee at an industrial piping firm, Tavner is on assignment to stop Iran from going nuclear. Lingering PTSD, governmental ineptitude, and meeting the requirements of his cover, cause spiraling blunders which threaten his mission. His penchant for smoking pot and writing all too confessional folks songs don’t help matters. And then there’s the trail of dead and maimed bodies he leaves in his wake.
The pilot episode of Patriot was first released in November 2015 with the rest of the first season being unveiled in February 2017. The show was renewed for a second season in April 2017 and those 8 episodes were released in November 2018. With the cancellation, the spy series is capped with a total of 18 episodes.

This was absolutely the most original and superbly acted show amazon has put out there. Please seriously consider firing the idiots that decided to cancel it. They truly have no idea what they are doing.

Add my voice to the disappointed throng. Patriot is a special show– a unique blend of levity and suspense, wonderfully written with superb acting– EVERY character was endearing and essential, and my heart broke for John. Patriot was more than just “pretty good.”
Such a shame. The best thing I’ve seen anywhere in years. Original, hilarious, superbly acted and with folk songs that run off course to accidentally reveal state secrets to small tents full of people who don’t speak English. What’s not to love? I miss John and Leslie very much indeed and was so looking forward to Middle Eastern pipeline shenanigans.

Series is cancelled, Amazon do some great original series, then on the other hand some moronic low quality shows get 3rd and fourth series which frankly is mind boggling.
I watch only three shows on Amazon. Patriot, the Grand Tour and Goliath.
Patriot was by far my favorite of the three.
Will be missed.
Yep, I’m disappointed. It’s not easy to find interesting, high-quality TV shows that a genuinely unique. And when you find one, it goes two seasons and gets axed. At some point I’ll catch up on watching all the TV shows I think are really worth watching and then I won’t need Amazon or Netflix any longer . . .

This show was by far my favorite show on TV! This is terrible news. I never comment on these things but this show was by far my favorite show. Easily re-watchable! Hopefully Netflix or someone picks it up!

Well now I’m ticked off! Just found this site and found out my favorite show is cancelled. Seems to happen every time I take a liking to a show… Bummed! This show was FUNNY!!!
