TV show description:
This TV show revolves around Doctor Daniel Pierce (Eric McCormack), an eccentric and brilliant neuroscience professor. Unfortunately, his mind is also damaged and he suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.
Pierce struggles with hallucinations and paranoid delusions brought on by his schizophrenia. Oddly though, he considers some of his hallucinations to be a gift. They occasionally allow him to make connections that his conscious mind can’t yet process. At other times, the hallucinations become Pierce’s greatest curse, leading him to behave in irrational, potentially dangerous ways.
Still, he’s recruited by FBI agent Kate Moretti (Rachael Leigh Cook) to help solve complex cases. Pierce has an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the way the mind works. He also has an uncanny ability to see patterns and can look past people’s conscious emotions to see what lies beneath. Kate is Pierce’s former student and, unlike her colleagues, she’s willing to look past his peculiarities.
Pierce’s mental condition and offbeat manner make it difficult for him to achieve the close friendships and intimate relationships he craves.
Those close to him include Max Lewicki (Arjay Smith), his teaching assistant. Max’s primary job is to keep Pierce in line and on task, whether that means grading midterms or laying out his boss’ wardrobe for the day. Natalie Vincent (Kelly Rowan) is Pierce’s best friend and every bit his intellectual equal. Paul Haley (LeVar Burton) is the dean at Pierce’s university and one of his few friends.
Pierce is in his element when solving an intricate puzzle or a coded message. But in unfamiliar situations, he can quickly become overwhelmed, and only his favorite music and a crossword puzzle have the power to make things right again.
Episode #39 — Run
When Moretti goes missing the day of her wedding, Pierce and Donnie set off in pursuit of the runaway bride. They soon learn that Kate has been abducted by a dangerous person from Pierce’s own past. Pierce and Donnie risk everything to save Moretti before it’s too late.
First aired: March 17, 2015
What do you think? Do you like the Perception TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
This is a great show! I hope another network picks it up and it will continue!
I love this show–love the characters and the mystery solving—so many other dumb shows–why cancel??? Please reverse decision and renew!!
I really enjoyed this show. It was poorly promoted in comparison to Rizzoli and Isles, and I suspect that hurt it’s ratings. If that truly was the last show this week, the least you can do is one or two more shows to resolve the cliffhanger!
I love this show and all characters. I look forward to watching Rizzoli and Isles and Perception on Monday nights (these are 2 of my favorite shows) so please rethink cancelling.
I thoroughly enjoyed the intriguing writing of this show that is like no other. It is another show that leaves us wondering because there is no finale.
when is the decision to be made regarding the fourth series? This show is amazing and funny. I love it and want MORE!!
I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!PLEASE PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!! THIS IS A TRULY A GOOD SHOW, NOT LIKE SOME OF THE GARBAGE YOU KEEP ON!!! HAVE A HEART AND BRING IT BACK!!!
I love this show!!! So sad to see it go. One of my favorites ever.
I signed up to be notified about comments on Perception. I have read multitudes of comments, not to mention the ones I submitted myself, to no avail. Just saw the last episode … “fair well Perception, it’s great story lines and even greater cast”, I will miss you !!!
I just saw this and I am shocked. It was well written, intelligent and suspenseful. The character interactions were great and then to see a person with mental illness and how it worked for him in life was amazing. A show I look forward to every week, and those are few and far between. Stupid decision!
I’m going have to jump on the bandwagon and say I am so disappointed! It’s one of the few shows my husband and I agree on. Smart, interesting, fun. I’m so tired of all the reality show garbage. This is a great show!
Oh no! I love the show. It’s so different from other shows. It also shows that a person with a mental illness can succeed in life. Too bad! People need to see this for hope in their own life. Change your mind!
One of the best shows out and the writing is top notch. Eric McCormack and Rachel Lee Cook, great chemistry. Sometimes when you the garbage that gets renewed and then a decision to not renew a show like Perception, I can’t tell you how disappointed I am that this show does not get renewed. Networks, bring this to broadcast tv and bypass cable. This is a winner.
One f the few shows that I watch on a continuing basis. I can’t understand why they cancelled it.
Please tell me you haven’t canceled Perception. It is a great show.
