TV show description:
This TV show revolves around Doctor Daniel Pierce (Eric McCormack), an eccentric and brilliant neuroscience professor. Unfortunately, his mind is also damaged and he suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.
Pierce struggles with hallucinations and paranoid delusions brought on by his schizophrenia. Oddly though, he considers some of his hallucinations to be a gift. They occasionally allow him to make connections that his conscious mind can’t yet process. At other times, the hallucinations become Pierce’s greatest curse, leading him to behave in irrational, potentially dangerous ways.
Still, he’s recruited by FBI agent Kate Moretti (Rachael Leigh Cook) to help solve complex cases. Pierce has an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the way the mind works. He also has an uncanny ability to see patterns and can look past people’s conscious emotions to see what lies beneath. Kate is Pierce’s former student and, unlike her colleagues, she’s willing to look past his peculiarities.
Pierce’s mental condition and offbeat manner make it difficult for him to achieve the close friendships and intimate relationships he craves.
Those close to him include Max Lewicki (Arjay Smith), his teaching assistant. Max’s primary job is to keep Pierce in line and on task, whether that means grading midterms or laying out his boss’ wardrobe for the day. Natalie Vincent (Kelly Rowan) is Pierce’s best friend and every bit his intellectual equal. Paul Haley (LeVar Burton) is the dean at Pierce’s university and one of his few friends.
Pierce is in his element when solving an intricate puzzle or a coded message. But in unfamiliar situations, he can quickly become overwhelmed, and only his favorite music and a crossword puzzle have the power to make things right again.
Episode #39 — Run
When Moretti goes missing the day of her wedding, Pierce and Donnie set off in pursuit of the runaway bride. They soon learn that Kate has been abducted by a dangerous person from Pierce’s own past. Pierce and Donnie risk everything to save Moretti before it’s too late.
First aired: March 17, 2015
What do you think? Do you like the Perception TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Big Mistake! Perception has class and style – seems TNT can’t handle that!
Apparently TNT has not the slightest concept of what viewers want.
I know less than 400 people here can’t/won’t make difference, and TNT knows that and no matter what is said most people won’t cancel them. This one of the most enjoyable shows to come out in a long time. My whole family thinks so. We record it so we can watch the show together. I agree with others, shows seemed to get cancelled just when you really get hooked!
I love this show. So much junk on tv and this was not one them. Very disappointed TNT!
This is one of the most refreshing and best show.
Very shocked this will be the SERIES finale.
A great loss.
I have been reading come of the comments regarding cancellation of Perceptions and I agree TNT has made a huge mistake. I love this show. It has a great story line and I think the actors do a superb job. Please rethink cancelling this show.
Love perception hate TNT cancelled it one of the better shows on TV !
It seems weird that during the last 2 episodes instead of saying “series finale” it said season finale…
Hey Nik, I’ve noticed that too. Do you think TNT is trying to pull a fast one or that we are stupid ?
I agree with Veronica, every time TNT gets a GOOD show with great acting, a good storyline, and a little humor, they cancel it. I also love this show! I say bring it back or I too will cancel TNT from my channel guide as you have nothing good left to watch!
I love Perception, record every episode, and watch them over and over. I think TNT made a big mistake!
What the heck! Why is Perception being cancelled…I assure you this show can go the distance. It’s already proven this by making it past season 1. There’s been a lot of crappy new shows created – Perception is NOT one of them.
I am disappointed it is cancelled.
Love the show Perception! I can’t believe TNT, it would be nice to have a show that isn’t rednecks fishing or using subtitles for a bunch chasing alligators in broken down boats. I think I will cancel TNT from my channel guide! Disappointed again by TNT!!!
Totally agree
What the hell?! This is one o our favorite shows ! Want to quit losing audiences how about keeping a more regular schedule program timing!
I love this show! The actors are great and the writing is superb! We need quality shows like this one. It entertains AND it makes you think. There are so few shows on anymore that do both. We can only hope they reconsider and bring it back.
Big mistake canceling perception
