TV show description:
This TV show revolves around Doctor Daniel Pierce (Eric McCormack), an eccentric and brilliant neuroscience professor. Unfortunately, his mind is also damaged and he suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.
Pierce struggles with hallucinations and paranoid delusions brought on by his schizophrenia. Oddly though, he considers some of his hallucinations to be a gift. They occasionally allow him to make connections that his conscious mind can’t yet process. At other times, the hallucinations become Pierce’s greatest curse, leading him to behave in irrational, potentially dangerous ways.
Still, he’s recruited by FBI agent Kate Moretti (Rachael Leigh Cook) to help solve complex cases. Pierce has an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the way the mind works. He also has an uncanny ability to see patterns and can look past people’s conscious emotions to see what lies beneath. Kate is Pierce’s former student and, unlike her colleagues, she’s willing to look past his peculiarities.
Pierce’s mental condition and offbeat manner make it difficult for him to achieve the close friendships and intimate relationships he craves.
Those close to him include Max Lewicki (Arjay Smith), his teaching assistant. Max’s primary job is to keep Pierce in line and on task, whether that means grading midterms or laying out his boss’ wardrobe for the day. Natalie Vincent (Kelly Rowan) is Pierce’s best friend and every bit his intellectual equal. Paul Haley (LeVar Burton) is the dean at Pierce’s university and one of his few friends.
Pierce is in his element when solving an intricate puzzle or a coded message. But in unfamiliar situations, he can quickly become overwhelmed, and only his favorite music and a crossword puzzle have the power to make things right again.
Episode #39 — Run
When Moretti goes missing the day of her wedding, Pierce and Donnie set off in pursuit of the runaway bride. They soon learn that Kate has been abducted by a dangerous person from Pierce’s own past. Pierce and Donnie risk everything to save Moretti before it’s too late.
First aired: March 17, 2015
What do you think? Do you like the Perception TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
I really enjoyed perception. Sorry to see that was the series finale. Hope network will reconsider.
I’m very disappointed to see this show cancelled! When will networks stop using the antiquated and, significantly, inaccurate Neilson ratings! Most of the “popular” shows, currently airing, are just bad! Their storylines are tired and overused, even their plots have been done, over and over, ad nauseum! Perception was a great, fresh idea and perfectly cast…it’s truly sad that the people who make the decisions made the wrong one!
Please do NOT cancel my favorite show!!
too late…
Why are intelligent, well acted TV series, such as Perception, get cancelled? Shame on you TNT. Do you realize that there are people in TV viewing land who prefer well thought of shows than all that smut being shown on so many other networks.
TNT, you’ve got it wrong. It’s boo, not boom!
I really enjoy this show. It is different from anything else on TV and gets a person thinking. It should be renewed.
I like Perception. It is different and has entertaining characters. TNT needs to reconsider.
I love this show
I’ll really miss this show. It’s my favorite.
As usual, the network cancels good series while leaving shows that have no depth!!
Do they really ever ask for audience input?? Being only 74, I’m probably too young to have ever been asked to participate in a real TV survey. Congratulations TNT, you have reinforced my belief in the golden rule of “big networks”: screw the public! We show whatever pleases us”!,!

I love this show why in the heck are you cancelling it!!!!!
This stinks – why do the good shows – great characters, story line and humor get cancelled? TNT has made big mistake……..
Perception is different and different is great. TNT should renew.
I am so sad that this show has been cancelled!!! I really enjoy the interactions between the actors and the premise is fascinating!! It would be great if another channel picked it up and kept it going. Bad move TNT, you guys are lucky you haven’t cancelled Rizzoli and Isles or I wouldn’t be watching your channel anymore!!
I have been watching since the first show and do not understand why they are cancelling it. I have a wonderful time while watching to try to solve the mystery myself (never do) and then surprised to see Daniel solve it. It is so hard to see why they would cancel the show, when they have such a big fan base, I know so many people who watch. I say get rid of whatever they are going to replace it with and PUT PERCEPTION BACK ON!
Perception is one of the most refreshing TV shows I’ve seen in years! TNT is making a big mistake by canceling this series!!! I often wonder where they (TV surveys) get information as to how the viewers perceive programs——I’ve never been approached to be a percipient in such a survey, but I’m only 74 years old and probably haven’t been watching TV long enough to be considered a good prospect!!
