Last season, Person of Interest moved to Tuesday nights and lost Taraji P. Henson. The show also lost a lot in the ratings. Will the numbers continue to fall or will they rise with a new lead-in? Is it essentially guaranteed to be renewed for a fifth season by CBS (because of syndication) or, could it be cancelled? Stay tuned.
On Person of Interest, a presumed dead former-CIA agent (Jim Caviezel) and a mysterious billionaire (Michael Emerson) work together to prevent violent crimes in New York City. The rest of the cast includes Kevin Chapman, Sarah Shahi, and Amy Acker.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/11 update: Person of Interest has been renewed for a fifth season on CBS. Will it be the end?
Final season averages: 1.53 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.42 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The third season of Person of Interest averaged a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 11.83 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Person of Interest TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fifth season?
Hi, i just wanted to say that the show is awesome and i would love to see them come back for two more seasons but after that i’m afraid the story might feel stucked. Season 4 finale made me cry, i love it and i don’t really think that people are realizing -as they never do with good shows- how fantastic and powerful shoe this is.
Love you guys!
Season 5 here we go!
The show needs to TOTAL Samaritan and get back to original 1st season plotting.
So, it’s a possible 13-episode midseason replacement season 5. I guess the horrible ratings and declining viewership couldn’t be ignored any longer. Prepare yourselves for the final season of POI.
So at the end of Season 4, what did we learn? 1. Elias’ great, months-in-the-making plan to avenge the murder of his friend is 1) get caught by Dominic; 2) fool him into killing his own first lieutenant; 3) reveal his error and laugh and him; 4) get killed by him. Seriously? That seemed to be the plan. 2. If you want to get someone alive out of an official transport vehicle, ram it at high speed with a dump truck. Yes, it’s very impressive on television, but this is the second time they’ve used this maneuver (see also Stanton,… Read more »
please make season 5. Its the stupid kids who have the attention span of a goldfish who cant watch it. Its such a great show.
Here, let me fix that for you, honey:
“Please make season 5. It’s the stupid kids who have the attention span of goldfish who can’t watch it. It’s such a great show.”
If you’re going to call people stupid, it’s helpful if you’re at least grammatically correct in your post.
My Top 10 Reasons why Person of Interest sucks now (and should get cancelled) 1) Nolan’s Ego 2) The death of Joss Carter (the heart of this show), my god this character is truly missing. 3) Samaritan. Can. You. Here. Me? 4) Shaw (never liked her, still don’t understand why she remains important) 5) The Red Herring a.k.a the bland character that puts everyone to sleep because she can’t find a personality Iris C. ~ i swear if she is there to stay i need a therapist for myself 6) John Riley (we don’t want the detective, we want John… Read more »
This list is perfection.
They took a highly sophisticated crime/spy semi-procedural and turned it into bad Scooby Doo minus the animation. They’ve even got the dog to boot! At this point, would anybody be surprised if at the end of an episode an old man, say Greer, pulled off a mask and said “You meddlesome kids!” Such a tragedy. Yikes!
Amen and Amen
Person of interest needs to be renewed I love this show!!
CANCEL POI
Please renew this show. It is very interesting and I would love to see it come back
Please please please leep it going!
Anonymous you are either not paying attention or unable to fully appreciate the depth of the storyline. Why the need to post twice on the same misguided point? Since you don’t explain why you think the show is being ruined I can only speculate that it is character changes such as Carter’s exit (which was preplanned from the beginning), or Shaw’s temporary exit (which is due to the joy of her bringing new children into the world) that have drawn your ire. The evolution of the Root character is fascinating and the return of Carter in a dream brought dynamic… Read more »
nothing about Root is fascinating and we understand the evolution of the show,or should I say de-evolution, And the Garter dream sequence was just a cheap gimick to try and get ratings
PLEASE CANCEL Person of Interest…i simply hated this parody of a show which i have watched for a whole Season 4. That definetely wasn’t Person of Interest.
Free Jim Caviezel!
I hope CBS will cancel it, so that Jonah Nolan cannot ruin this show any longer.
A shame what has happen to that ONCE superb show.
You can not s single show to be as intertwining and true to real life as we go through this, please keep it going.
Person of interest needs to be renewed for a fifth season. It is hands down my favorite drama on television and I want to know if they can save the machine and kill Samaritan. Please bring it back!
Hi this is Chethan from India, me & my friends love POI its really good. plz continue this serial.
also, plz do not kill Mr. John Reese.
Hi Chethan,
I agree with you and want to see a Season 5 as well.
POI is a fascinating series and while Mr. Reese is my favorite
I think we must be prepared for the worst as our hero has been
lucky to survive 4 seasons with his risky behavior.
Losing Carter was bad enough, let’s hope we will be spared
such an awful ending to amazing character.
