TV show description:
This crime drama follows a presumed dead former-CIA agent named John Reese (Jim Caviezel) who teams up with a mysterious billionaire, Mr. Finch (Michael Emerson), who’s also believed to be dead. Their goal is to prevent violent crimes by using technology and their own brand of vigilante justice.
Finch is a software genius who has invented a program that uses pattern recognition to identify people who are about to be involved in violent crimes — either the victim or the perpetrator. It was originally built for the government to prevent another 9/11 disaster but found that it was predicting less catastrophic, “irrelevant” crimes. Finch built a “backdoor” into the machine so that, before erasing the “irrelevant” data each night, Finch is sent the social security number of a person about to be involved in a serious crime.
Finch recruits Reese because of his special training in covert operations. Using their combined skills, resources and advanced surveillance technology, they work outside of the law to identify “persons of interest” and stop crimes before they occur.
Reese’s actions draw the attention of the NYPD — including homicide detectives Carter (Taraji P. Henson) and Fusco (Kevin Chapman). The latter is a corrupt cop and Reese blackmails him into being a source of information inside the department.
With infinite crimes to investigate, Reese and Finch find that locating the right person, with the right information, at the right time, can change everything.
Episode #103 — Return 0
Finch, Reese, Fusco and Shaw embark on one last mission to prevent Samaritan from destroying The Machine and cementing its hold over mankind.
First aired: June 21, 2016.
What do you think? Do you like the Person of Interest TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a sixth season?

I am very disappointed the show has been cancelled. Every aspect of the show has been cleverly written. The actors are all excellent. What a shame that a show is so good will no longer be. I always looked forward to Tuesday nights to watch the show. I hope a cable network picks the show up. CBS you made a mistake.
I really enjoyed the program, I wish it would continue.
A 6th 7 8 9 and 10th season maybe more it’s a damn good show but like always the good ones are always cancelled and they leave the crap like reality shows on. I would watch this before I watch the voice, American Idol etc.
The technology is a bit farfetched, but the show is well written, well acted, exciting, suspenseful, and doesn’t treat the audience like idiots. At least Season 5 will end with a bit of closure, and without any loss of production quality. If the production team can continue “off network” I would like to see more, but not if it means a compromise in the quality of the program.
Person of interest is definitely one of the best shows ever created and I can’t believe that CBS would cancel it. The show should be renewed for not only a 6th season but more if possible. Others can agree that canceling the show after we’ve waited and watched such an amazing series for the past five years is a tragedy.
I watched Person of Interest last night and was so excited about seeing the show. I look forward to Tuesday night as this show is definitely a favorite of mine. Then over sudden it hit me, only one more time will I see all of those great actors and actresses. CBS I really do not think you know what you are doing. I believe that you should take another look at what you are throwing away. I for one will always be the person interested in shows with substance like the Person of Interest. I wish the whole cast the… Read more »
I hope a cable channel picks it up .I looked forward to Tuesday. They destructed the final shows.
It’s very sad to see a show with so much potential and enjoyment come to an end, as a lot of sci-fi shows have been getting the axe lately. I have noticed an alarming trend in which all sci-fi shows as well as other really good shows with potential. and the ones that are mindless drivell seem to miss the show killing axe. Person of Interest is one of the best shows to hit TV in some time, I must confess i’ve become a Person of Interest fan anf plan to buy the whole series on DVD. .I for one… Read more »
It’s sad that there is only one episode left in this fantastic series. It was original, well plotted, excellent character development, and certainly got one thinking. I shall miss “Person of Interest”.
I love this show. It’s different from any crime buster TV shows.
My husband and I both LOVE this show. We are so sorry it is being cancelled. I’m sure it is too late to change the network’s mind, but we still have to put in our “two cents worth.” It won’t be long and there won’t be anything worth watching. Most of what is out there is mindless “entertainment.” POI appealed to those of us who want more.
Absolutely NO. One of the best shows on TV.
How can networks justify such drivel as the far too many “look at me” shows w/singers, survivors, physical competition, etc., ad nauseum that millions of empty-minded people, I feel may be living vicariously through (why else would one watch things like that?), when a truly worthwhile, well-written, anti-big brother situation has been something so many of us have looked forward to, week after week? Just so very disappointed. Big Bang Theory, Criminal Minds, the NCIS shows are all so good, why drop Person of Interest, when Two Broke Girls is little more than banal, obscene junk, filled w/sexual innuendos, proudly… Read more »
NO…to Cancelling … One of the very few network shows I watch….If they keep putting on more garbage and removing quality shows…no one will be watching network…..Good luck to them… Showtime, Showcase, HBO etc. etc.
I suggest they renew it for another season
I liked it very much at first… then this last season seemed to run out of “Interest” for me , maybe because you can only go so far with it before it’s repetitive. It also seemed to lose momentum when Taraji left. The first four seasons kept me glued and looking forward to more amazing stories every week. I will be sad to see it replaced by the stuff there putting on now… Sort of liked Limitless, Blacklist, The player but I see 2 out of 3 are already gone for good… Hmm with the 50 plus commercials and now… Read more »
