NBC has been promoting Persons Unknown as a mini-series and that the show’s mysteries will be answered by the end. The show has not performed well in the ratings so hopefully the network will let all 13 episodes air.
If they do pull the series early, the show is scheduled to be put out on DVD. According to Amazon, it’s scheduled for an August 31st release but that’s likely to change because NBC won’t have aired all of the episodes until early September.
Some readers have noticed that the DVD set is titled Persons Unknown: The Complete First Season
Executive Producer Remi Aubuchon recently told Collider that, when they were shooting it, they did so believing it would be an on-going series. Though they wanted it to go on, he made sure that they answered all of the questions by the end of the first season, to make it a satisfying story for viewers.
Could there be another season? Aubuchon said, “It’s not unheard of, in the course of life, that if there’s enough interest in it, we could consider going a second season or doing another chapter. I keep looking at it as books in a series, and this season is the first book. I feel confident that we will have a beginning, middle and end, in this season, and it was wise of NBC to then call it what it really is, which is a mini-series.”
He continued, “24 is a really good example, in that there was a definitive beginning, middle and end for the first season. They had a slightly different format than we have, but the second season just retained Jack Bauer and a few other players, with the same basic format and idea, but it was a completely different show. I’m not saying that that’s exactly where we’re going, but certainly I think that there’s room for saying, ‘Hey, look, we told one story of a continuing saga.’ You should be able to pick this book up and get to the last line of the season and go, ‘Wow! Well, I hope there’s a second season, but at least I feel satisfied that I got to see all of this. They answered it all for me.”
Unfortunately, it looks unlikely that NBC would be interested in another season but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t return on another channel or in another form.

They have got to bring this back for a second season …They left to many untied ends….My whole family loves this show but we were all pissed at how it ended UNLESS …They bring it back for another season….I wanna see what level 2 is going to be like
They better bring back the show with a second season. I’m so sick of seeing story-lines of this type discontinued (Cube, House of 9, etc.) as soon as the public gets a glimpse of the “man behind the curtain”–or in this case stern, terrifying woman with an unfortunate haircut. I’m sick of seeing the same story-line reused without any sort of continuation. They Have to Bring This Back for another season the show was finally starting to get so excited… its not the type of show you could just cancel after one season… It has to much potencial. Bring on Season 2!!!!
YESSS please we are best friends and this is our favorite show we watch it together all the time it is amazingggg there needs to be a season too..we have to see who will defeat the program!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There definitely should be a Season 2!! I was always hanging on to the end of every episode, and the season finale definitely did not answer all my questions, and definitely left me wanting more!! PLEASE bring it back!
This better not be a repeat of Jericho! They can’t end a season on a cliffhanger and then just cancel it. It pissed a bunch of people (including me) off last time, and it’s going to piss me off if they do that with Persons Unknown. It is a great show. I was always wondering what was going to happen next.

I know for damn sure that they better bring on a second season. If they don’t I will feel like I have wasted a summer. I need to know what happens to Kat and the Ambassador, Renbe and Joe, Janet and the crew on level 2. They should have made the finale an episode about the origins of the Program. I think that if NBC doesn’t bring back season 2 of Persons Unknown it will be the biggest mistake of company.

I don’t care what anyone says but this show is absolutely amazing it got better and better every episode and they didn’t answer every question and they did end it with a cliffhanger so I feel they have to make a second season. I would really love to see one and this was a very good show show for me to pick up on after LOST ended and with the ending it had (Persons Uknown) I feel the show has a lot of potential. So now I beg please make a second season ASAP!!!
